We just left Mom’s grill and met Mom and her God daughter. We got there at 10am and she explained that they had been opened since 7am and the breakfast plates were sold out. We tried the cheese biscuit and it was on another level! We had some that came out the oven as we chatted with Mom and the cheese was gooey, the biscuit flaky and soft! Mom has been there for 34 years and is looking to retire soon. She is training her god-daughter in the way of the biscuit which will ensure the future of the best cheese biscuit in eastern NC. We came to Little Washington from Durham, NC. Strolled downtown and along the docks, ate at a few restaurants, shopped at a few shops, and drank at a few bars. On the way out of town we decided to make a stop at Mom's Grill because we saw the great reviews, and OMG did this place make our entire trip. I was not prepared for cheese STUFFED biscuits. I could have died happy after the first bite. Do yourself a favor. Make the drive. Make the stop. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I was excited to try the famous cheese biscuits that I’ve been hearing about on my way to work one morning. Stopped in grab a sandwich and a wanted a coffee. The coffee pot was very low on coffee and I didn’t want old coffee. I asked the young lady behind the counter to make a fresh pot. She did. The older lady who makes the biscuits proceeded to cuss the poor child out. Told her she did the care who told her to make fresh coffee, don’t waste her coffee. Mind you, I’m standing right there. 2 stars for the young lady keeping her composure. I’ll go get fresh coffee elsewhere from now on. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I stumbled along this place just passing through. I happen to be scrolling through Yelp looking for breakfast somewhere. I was road tripping but unfortunately they were not a lot of great reviews for places along these country roads. As they drove by this place caught my attention and I wanted to see just outta curiosity what reviews were written. To my surprise this place is a big deal for their biscuits. I made a U turn, parked and went inside. Yes this is an old repurchased gas station/grocery store/stopping point for locals to buy lottery tickets and beer. I told the lady behind the counter people are talking about how good the biscuits are and she said try one you will see. I had missed the breakfast rush by a couple of hours and they still had a few biscuits on hand. She added a slice of ham to this buttery, cheesy biscuit. The photos just don't do this buiscuit justice! This was a good biscuit, she offered me a second but I really didn't have room, it was filling. Biscuits are a big deal and I really enjoyed it. If I have the chance to pass through in the future I will definitely stop off. Unfortunately for me it's not very easy to get too because it's off the major highways connecting Virginia and North Carolina.

The biscuits are great, the customer service however is another issue. This place is inside an old gas station mart. The chef is not friendly and if you don’t order your biscuits correctly, she laughs and mocks you and gives you something completely different than what you asked for. I asked for a bacon egg biscuit and came home with an egg sandwich on bread. Will not be back. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Biscuits are off the chain good!! They serve over the counter, not sit down! Food was great! More like a hole in the wall type joint with a 100% Sanitation Grade!! Don’t let that outside fool you, this place legit!!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Stopped in with my mom for the cheese biscuits. Wow! They know how to make a cheese biscuit. I have already been back for more. And while I'm in town I plan eating there again. This place may not look fancy on the outside or inside but if you are passing through town, I would highly recommend stopping in for this. That being said, I have not tried anything else. But to be honest, what else can I choose when they have those amazing biscuits.

Amazing breakfast!! The cheese biscuits are what they’re most known for, but I haven’t had anything that wasn’t delicious. Country ham, sausage, bacon, eggs, grits, and lots more!

These are the best cheese biscuits ever. Traveled every day while visiting Belhaven to get a biscuit in Washington. So good bought 4 dozen back to Texas.

The cheese biscuits are the best in town or that I have had without making them n the price is good to.we get them when friends are in the neighborhood or we come here. They are I think the best to buy them where we cook them n keep them frozen.
