A bar situated in an enviable location, yet it appears to be on the wane. Half of the menu offerings were unavailable, and attempts at overcharging sans an invoice raised eyebrows, especially given the steep pricing. While these factors do a disservice to the establishment, its interior design is notable. Ingenious twists and turns have crafted a private nook in an otherwise bustling area. It's a real shame that mismanagement seems to have overshadowed the potential of this spot. Their food offerings, much like the drinks, are notably overpriced. The potential of a lively hub is evident, but it's being squandered. Price per person R 250–300 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

A beautifully designed space. We visited for brunch - I’d seen a menu online and the prices seemed very reasonable. So, the prices are reasonable however the portion sizes are quite small. I would rather have paid a bit more for a slightly bigger portion. If you’re looking for a boozy brunch, they have a vast Bloody Mary station 😋 That said, the food was delicious. Service, excellent. Space, inspiring. Art & decor, awesome. View, stunning (especially in Jacaranda season). And I’d definitely return again for cocktails when the bar has an evening vibe and sunset view 🌇 +🍸🍹=👌🏻

Mix Bar is the hidden gem within a members only club. Wait out the afternoon traffic, take in the spectacular view of lush urban forest of north east Johannesburg while enjoying a cocktail over cool beats. If you get peckish I'd recommend the Sirloin special if they have it otherwise the chicken tenders - both cooked to perfection & delicious. But the real perk of visiting Mix is the service, which is members only standard. Highly trained waiters, attentive without being overbearing who offer good recommendations based on your mood and palate. Also look out for their specials, as a gin lover I appreciated the double Monkey 47 & tonic at +/- R90 (Jan 2019).

What a classy little spot! Cocktails on point - Negroni done right, with a beautiful block of clear ice, with perfect balance! The best in Gauteng so far by far! Service was good and attentive, vibe was cool and location great. Will certainly be back for more. Well done team!

Excellent cocktails but totally underwhelming and overpriced when it comes to food. Ordered 5 small plates to share and most failed to make an impression. The pork belly was off, short ribs were dry, aubergine was undercooked, dry octopus served in a poor combination with hash browns. Only the lamb rolls were good. Ordered a glass of wine and there was sediment in it. Friendly service (we were not charged for the pork belly and the glass of wine).

Uninspiring drinks today (tasteless) and a shocking starter portion (for the price paid). Service pretty average. Then there is the question of an automatic 10% gratuity charged. Lucky this was pointed out! First time and probably last time!

Seriously, this is a cocktail bar. Aweful cocktails. Paloma= undrinkable!! Lilly’s rose spritz= not good at all!! Old Smokey= vaguely passable!

If you're looking for a world-class cocktail bar experience - Mix Bar is it. It wouldn't feel out of place in New York or a trendy European city. See Devin at the bar for a masterfully prepared cocktail - The Old Fashioned can't be beat. Food and service are all on point, and if you're a cigar smoker, there's a fully stocked humidor. Five stars from me.

If you are in the Rosebank area, Mix Cocktail Bar is a definite must after work, around 4pm. And eclectic mix of people and impeccable decor to compliment. The staff are super professional, the drinks are great and the bar menu is awesome aperitif before dinner. And the view is remarkably stunning, so you’ll enjoy the sunset while sipping on your beverage.
