Food was terrible tasted old meet tasted like it was bad old meet. We got fried rice that tasted Old and burnt. We got the beef lo mane and the meet in that tasted like it was old. And we got the boneless spareribs and they looked and tasted like the meet was old. We also got general tows chicken and it was the only thing that tasted ok but it was not even spice my it was more like sweet chicken. I will not be going to this place again. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
Watery and flavorless, I got the pork with vegetables and every single vegetable was hard and seemed microwaved. The sauce tasted like salt water and made everything a pathetic soup. The fried rice was definitely not fried and the crab rangoons were just filled with flavorless cream cheese. The pork was chewy and didn’t seem right. This place has gone downhill since covid. Will never order here again. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Wow what a difference a year can make. Unsure what happened but the food quality and taste has changed dramatically, Not sure if they have switched kitchen staff, cooks, vendors or what but the food is barely edible. Was quite disappointed as family came into town wanting Chinese so we went since the last time I had ordered take out from Ming's it was hot, delicious and worthy of me raving about. This time, no. The service was very slow, one pleasant young woman that seemed scared or nervous but perhaps she knew about the food, unlike us. The appetizers were ok but the entrees and fried rice sides were not good at all. The vegetable lo mein used to be loaded with vegetables with noodles that tasted freshly made. This time the noodles were yellow, old and I could barely find two pieces of broccoli let along another vegetable. Family had beef with broccoli, sesame chicken and generals mix. Each meat was flavorless or completely covered in sauce that seemed to be from a bottle. My husband had so many whole peanuts on his dish, we couldn't even see the dish underneath them. Not sure what the issue is. Wishing they could some how improve things but it is so hard to find good help. I felt it necessary to write a review since our bill was over $100 with tip and I wanted others to be warned. i wish the owners and staff good luck and hope for improvement. Their food has gotten so inconsistent. It's terrible. We were there a few days ago. We ordered chicken and broccoli and peppered shrimp. First off, the chicken tasted gamey and borderline sour. The sauce was flavorless. It was basically just salty, brown, tasteless gravy. I took one bite of the chicken and two pieces of the broccoli. I couldn't eat it. The peppered shrimp was shockingly, yes SHOCKINGLY salty. You could see the layer of salt on the plate. The shrimp had some kind of tasteless breading on it, which it never had before. Because of the amount of salt, it was not edible. I told our server that we could not eat it and that I would like the manager to come to our table to see the plates of food. The manager did not come to the table. When we went to pay our bill, the manager said she would give us a discount. We payed $52.00. We had one iced tea, one soda, one order of crab Rangoon, 2 small hot and sour soup and, the unedible entrées. AWFUL dining experience. They really need to get their food back up to what it used to be.

I have eaten at Ming's twice in the last week. I am thrilled they are open for dine-in menu orders. There is finally good Chinese food in Houghton again. My most recent order included Crab Rangoons, Shrimp Lo Mein, and General Tsao's Chicken with steamed rice. There's a bit missing from each of the photos because we were hungry and wanted to taste the food as soon as it arrived. Delicious! And plenty for leftovers. I hope the buffet will also eventually return. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20
I am flabbergasted at what my experience was today. My mother and I went to the MING and ordered lunch. We both ordered hot and sour soup and chicken and broccoli lunch to share. We got our food and we started eating the soup and immediately found it was not like it normally is and was way to spicy hot to even eat. I didn't want to be a person to complain but I kindly told the waitress the problem we had with the soup not being edible. She went to the boss and told him the problem and when she came back she said she couldn't take the soups off our receipts for whatever reason and then said she was told she could bring us egg drop soup to mix in with the hot and sour. We told her no we didn't want that we just wanted the soups removed from our bill. She said she couldn't do that. Then proceeded to bring us egg drop soup to supposedly mix with the hot and sour. And they were so full we wouldn't have been able to mix them together anyway! Why on earth couldn't they just remove the unedible soup from our bill? I just don't understand. Instead waste the egg drop soup and still be out of the money for that. Honestly I've had even more terrible experience at this restaurant in the past but normally pass it off because I love the food. This time I couldn't not leave a review. I will not be going back and I will let everyone I can know about my experiences. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

This place has gone downhill. I understand the issue during COVID and it is difficult to get a business going after being shut down for awhile. However, there has been plenty of time to get the buffet up and running again. So, without the buffet, I went with my “go to” of Gen Tsao’s chicken and fried rice. What I got was actually Orange Chicken with a touch of red peppers mixed in. It was NOT Gen Tsao’s. It had a citrusy sweet glaze sauce that wasn’t even spicy. The “fried” rice was an Uncle Ben’s packet of chicken flavored yellow rice that you would microwave. It wasn’t fried at all. I know Chinese restaurants and this one was a disappointment. I was an avid customer before COVID hit, when Ming’s was the best in the area. They are cutting a lot of corners now and when you pay $15 for an entree that would cost $6 at the frozen food aisle, you are getting ripped off. From now on I will be going to the restaurant downtown. Sorry, Ming’s, you were once the place to go, but what we experienced last night was just awful. I gave one star just because you were open.

I ordered the general Tso's chicken, and it was arguably one of, if not THE worst general tsos chicken I've ever had. Not to mention the rice wasn't good either! Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1

This is one of my favorite restaurants ever I've been going here for nearly 15 years! Got even better after changing ownership. You can always rely on a calming atmosphere and a great buffet selection. Highly recommend to anyone who wants some variety in dinner.
