This traditional Mexican restaurant is amazing
The food is extraordinary and the service is great
My father had as an appetizer Mushrooms and a steak as main course, he said it was great. I had a tortilla soup and grilled chicken with cactus salad, my food was delicious
I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Matamoros Mexico

It comes down to management to run efficiently a restaurant, but it’s degrading when management does not overview when a waiter overcharges the customer, food is not appropriately cooked, and specially when there is no requirement for employees to wash their hands when they go to the restroom (thing that I personally witnessed with a waiter who went back to work without even touching water). Had high expectations and a good view of this restaurant, but unfortunately it’s all appearances. Would not recommend it.

The parking is terrible, but once you walk in, you realize it’s all worth it!
This eatery is inside a giant palapa.
The waitstaff is amazing and anticipates your every need. As soon as you are seated 3 types of amazing salsas are served.
The food is fabulous.
I love going there and ordering off the appetizer menu.
Some of my faves are the queso flameado, champiñónes al guallio and
Crispy sweet breads.
They have a Mi Pueblito in Brownsville, but this is the original and of course the best!
You will not regret coming here!

Great service, great food! Had the parilla which was loaded with tender, tasty meats. The queso fundido is also great. Servers worked hard and were friendly.
Riquísimooo
I loved everything. This was a sampler plate for 3 people. Beef ribs, chicken, fajita, sausage, grilled onion, serrano, and nopales, and a side of beans.
Went for the first time and tasted the Carne Asada a la Tampiqueña de Fajita, that one caught my attention. It was very complete, the fajita had a very great flavor and seasoning, loved the small "patty" filled with cheese, I'm pretty sure it was filled with queso asadero or Oaxaca. Also had the chance to taste some ribs from a parrillada, there were very good, not a big amount of meat, but fair enough, the quality of the meats there appears to be local, nothing gourmet level, but everything still tastes very good, it's worth the visit, most for people from the Rio grande Valley since it is just 2 or 3 minutes from the B&M Bridge.
We were pleasantly surprised with this place, we had already eaten at a place closer to the border. Next time we will come straight to Mi Pueblitos. The house margaritas on the rocks are pretty good, the roasted green chili and creamy Verde salsas are outstanding. Casual dress, nice atmosphere and attentive servers. We'll be back for the real deal, thumbs up!
Mi pueblito has an exciting festive vibe, authentic Mexican regional dishes, EXCELLENT cocktails, and fantastic service!!! It makes for a fun delicious experience! Highly recommended!!!
