One fine evening, as we went to Bhaktapur and craved for some local momo and tea, we stumbled upon this place which is in Dattatreya square. I was intrigued by the decor, which made me feel like I was drinking tea in the middle of an antique shop. It being Bhaktapur and hosting a wide variety of carvings, you will not be surprised. They also have a pleasant collection of indoor plants which elevates your experience. They have a small collection of books to peruse, but honestly, I was too mesmerized by the interior to really browse the books. The momo and laksa was quite delicious. So was my cup of tea.

Mayur Special Momo
Cosy inner yard of this Newari style restaurant at the Dattraya square. We were here two rimes for lunch. First time we'd snacks like Mo:mo Mayur chicken, chicken fingers and satay. That was delicious, so we decided to visit a second time and tried the chicken rendang and the satay. Both were disappointing, rendang wasn't finished, tasted strange and the satay was not a tasty as before, but much drier.
Second thing is the toilet right next to inner yard woth open dpave above so you can hear toilet 'music' and smell the odours. So second time we stayed well away from this corner.
Wouldn't advise going here.

Really nice place with artefacts show room and the food is rather good and tasty but quite small portions for the price (650 for chicken meal). Service ok but not attentive. My wife asked her red curry chicken to be not spicy and it was very spicy; she could only eat the rice and small salad.

Highly dedicated to the dollar paying toursist, i felt a little unwelcomed by some of the owner. The restaurant is a home owned facility with a guesthouse in the upper floor. totally designed in newari style inside a newari home, the place is quiet beautiful. A bit expensive. Not preferring digital payment made me disappointed. The place deserved 5 but some hospitality issue bothered me so 4.

Inspired by Newari culture, this converted home-turned-restaurant is a visual delight. The intricate architecture, traditional tables, doors, and even the toilets reflect the rich history that has thrived within these walls.
The warm and welcoming ambiance makes you feel like a guest in someone's home. While the food is decent, if you want an authentic Newari culinary experience, exploring the nearby alleyways is recommended. This family-run business offers genuine hospitality and friendly smiles. As soon as you enter, you'll notice the serene atmosphere and a notable change in the ambiance. While it may not be crowded like other places, this is actually a benefit for those seeking a peaceful and serene environment.
The pricing might be slightly higher, but it's worth it for those who appreciate the lush greenery and unique ambiance. Additionally, it also serves as a great co-working space where you can meet like-minded individuals. If you're looking for a place to unwind, soak in the atmosphere, or connect with others, Mayur Restaurant is a good option.
The place is beautiful. Many plants and wooden antiques can be seen. The food was very pricey though. And it was difficult to pay online.

The restaurant seems like it is family-owned, and while it is decent, the quality of the food falls below average. I didn't feel particularly welcomed during my visit. Although it's a good place, it doesn't quite measure up to being the best option. Additionally, as mentioned in one of the reviews, this place is not that affordable. The atmosphere is the best, reflecting the culture of Bhaktapur.

If you're looking for a truly exceptional dining experience, look no further than the Heritage Restaurant. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a world of elegance and postive aura.
Thankful for the hospitality seems like a couchsurfing experience with a detailed discussion over spiritual talks and energy.

Best restaurant we went to in Bhaktapur. Fries were lovely, as were the chicken momos. The lady who took our order was very helpful with my girlfriend’s nut allergy and spoke perfect English which is a rarity in restaurants here.
