We are in the area for the winter months. We really enjoy experiencing everything local - stores, pubs, restaurants...you get the picture. We have passed by Max's Roadhouse quite a few times and decided yesterday was the day to stop by and have an early dinner. Online reviews were mixed with good and not-so-good, but the shining reviews helped us choose. And we are so glad we ignored the negative ones! We were immediately greeted and seated ourselves on the bar side when we arrived early around 4:30pm. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas which was a treat. Music was playing but it was at a decent level and had a good playlist. My husband had an IPA with a Roadhouse Cheeseburger with Fries and I ordered the Hill Country Margarita and the Beef Tacos (2 large ones.) The server was attentive, prompt to respond, and just a delight to meet. The drinks and food were delicious, too. In fact, we had so much food we took some of it with us when we left. We really enjoyed this place. We loved the atmosphere. Mostly locals having a drink after work and playing pool. The burgers n lots of french fries are delicious and I loved the jalapeńo poppers ! The food was good. Had wings, cheese burgers, fries, chicken nachos, and chicken tacos. Everything was delicious. Drinks were on point.

my friends and i went for some appetizers at max’s and the customer service was really nice! our waiter was very polite and patient and our food was pretty good overall. the jalapeño poppers were the best and the chili fries + fried ravioli were well made 😌 they also have karaoke for some fun Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The food here is surprisingly good for bar food. I have never been here in the evening so I can't speak to bar aspect of Max's but I have stopped in for lunch several times and am always surprised with the kitchen quality. As a heads up they do charge a 5ish% extra when you use a credit card. So bring cash to save. Otherwise, it's a great place. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Great little bar. Had live country singers. It's a little out of the spring branch area, but not too far. The service was great. The girls tried their best, but we were a large group. Great space in the rooms with large TVs, great for watching the game. THIS ISN'T a hotel.
