I enjoyed having lunch here. Wasnt busy when i got there but people started flowing in after i arrived. Decided to go with a steak burger. I had the intimidator burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was great. Spicy but not so spicy you couldn't finish. I was impressed with the sweet potato fries. They were nice and crispy, very tasty. The server was very friendly and helpful. Counter ordering is different but i didn't mind it. Looks like it might be a fun place to watch a game sometime. Service was also very quick and i would recommend this place for anyone looking for a good steak burger in the downtown area. I walked in on a Wednesday evening with not many people inside and was promptly and politely greeted by the cashier. I was able to look at the menu without being rushed and ordered an All-Star burger with garlic fries for a quick to-go order. Honestly I was on the fence about this place with the reviews I had read, but was pleasantly surprised with how quickly my order came out (under 10 mins) and again, the politeness of the cashier! The burger and fries smelled delicious the whole drive home and tasted just as good, the burger and onions on the burger were well seasoned and the garlic fries were just the right balance without being overpowering. The restaurant was a little dirty but the vibes were good. The all-star burger was delicious. It was everything you’d want in a burger. The lobster roll was really good but I’ve never had a lobster roll before so I am not sure where it falls on the scale. I have a feeling it could be better. The filling was cold and seemed like fake crab meat salad which I wasn’t expecting but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The sweet potato fries and dipping sauces were my favorite. They were great. Everything needed extra seasoning (they have salt and pepper). Overall it was pretty good, I’d come again. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

This was an unexpected gem! We loved the food. I ate so fast, all I can show is the empty basket!! This was one of the best burgers I've had and the French fries were so seasoned and crispy. We are outside on the patio and were thrilled to have a dog friendly patio! I will definitely frequent this place in the future!! Great location in downtown Flagstaff. Awesome burgers and phenomenal fries!!!! Seriously, these fries are perfect! You grab some menu’s, sit wherever you want and order at the register when you’ve decided. Surprisingly great bathrooms also. If I could complain at all it would be having to pay before hand, but no biggie.

***2 1/2 stars*** To be perfectly honest, Matty G's was not my first choice. I had a giant hike scheduled (and completed - boom!) up and down nearby Humphreys Peak on Memorial Day, and I spent a solid amount of time looking at potential eating spots for afterwards when I would understandably be hungry like the wolf. Despite that, I impulsively picked this place because they had outdoor seating and I figured it was the least likely of my options to give me pushback over my appearance (I slid down part of the mountain and had been actively fantasizing about a shower for hours). I was correct about that part at least. I didn't go inside the restaurant (my chum did, and picked up a giant fountain glass of water for me to begin my recovery process), but the building was very edgy/ historic to look at, and from what I could see of the interior, was spacious at least. We plopped down outside close to the sidewalk and were waited on fairly quickly. I'd decided weeks in advance that I was going to have a celebratory bourbon-based cocktail, but it wasn't clear from the provided menu that that was an option. I definitely saw beers, but no cocktails. There was a full-service bar inside, so I knew other options were available, but I'd definitely recommend they get themselves a cocktail menu for customers - I can't be the only one who likes a non-beer nip every now and then, and ordering essentially off menu can be a bit dangerous, depending. That said, when I asked for an Old Fashioned, our waitress immediately perked up and said she'd been told hers were very good, and that was that. When it showed up (attached), it was significantly redder than I've seen before, and tasted like it absolutely had FIreball in it - full disclosure, my chum tried it and couldn't taste that. It wasn't bad per se, but it just wasn't a straight up Old Fashioned as far as I could tell. What was especially weird though was when I brought it up with the waitress - not as a complaint, just a curious observation - she got nervous and couldn't really articulate what was in the cocktail. That made me think she didn't actually make it, but I can't say for sure. Odd though. The bread and butter here clearly seems to be the burgers, but I was still recovering from a mediocre piece of previously frozen bison from two days earlier so I went with the chicken tenders basket. The chicken tenders themselves were really good - not overly fried, and dare I say it, tender - but the problem was the lack of dipping sauce. I was asked if I wanted anything else with the tenders and I immediately requested BBQ sauce. It didn't show up for the first three tenders (a span of about 15 minutes I think), and only then made an appearance because the waitress came back to check on us having very obviously forgotten about the request. She was very apologetic and retrieved the sauce from the final tender, but the majority of my meal was unfortunately pretty dry. Definitely a bummer. The service has potential here. Our waitress WAS really nice and clearly wanted to do a good job - it's hard to find solid people for these jobs especially in a post-COVID world. But the bottom line is that the service turned this into a negative overall, and you have a lot of other options in the immediate area that include cocktail menus and better service. I'd go there instead next time. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Awesome service and the food was great! My first Lobster roll , I loved it, the sourdough roll was buttered and toasted, so good. Loved the special sauce they make for dipping the sweet potato fries in. Unique flavor, really good. My husband got the Intimidator burger, he kept saying it was really good, jalapeños were good and hot,, he's not normally burger guy but he said it was really good, we were just hungry and it was my pick, so here we are enjoying ourselves. Very good service from our server. Nice environment with some good decor. The food didn't take too long and the prices aren't bad. Amazing place to eat downtown, an extensive burger menu... Burgers are on all kinds of bread from Sliced Rye To Brioche Buns! Last night I had a Grilled Mushroom Burger! When we got there, I noticed there was only one server. Turns out he was the only one in the front of the house but Dominic handled it great!! Once our order was in, it only took a few minutes to get it and it was so good! Whom ever is cooking in back knows what they're doing!
