We had such a fun experience and great service. We ordered the mouth watering raging Cajun and shrimp & grits. The chicken had the perfect amount of crisp and so deliciously tender accompanied with the savory spice. The corn was such a great addition with its savory sweetness and spice. The shrimp and grits were the best grits we have ever had and the prawns were cooked perfect. This is a must try and the peeps working there are so fun. This is a must try. Thank you for the great service Clentona and Chris! I got the Perogative 75 which was so good because I got to select between the selection of gin. The gumbo, snapper and Mardi Gras balls were my favorite. Everything was great from the experience to the food and drinks. This is a must-see-to-believe. From the outside, it's like; ok...we're here and we're hungry, let's just hope for the best...once the food is actually in front of you...180...you're like; O. M. G. And that's all I can say. Today was the first time we'd been here and our expectations were straight up blown out of the water, food-wise. Chef Rodney is a foodie angel of the highest order. He came out to ask how the meal was and told us a little about his culinary history. This is so refreshing in a time where it's not common for a couple sitting down to share a meal to put down their phone(s) before picking up their fork. When Anthony brought out our food, I could see immediately that it was going to be something special and I wasn't wrong...I just didn't expect this experience to be so...wonderful. Please take a chance to let this man and this menu change your mind on what good food should be. Especially when it's made from the heart. From one foodie to another, thank you, Chef!❤️ Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

Fantastic creole restaurant inside Oak Street Food Hall. Their muffuletta sandwich was delicious! Definitely split it with someone because it's huge. The fries could be better, IMO, but my daughter liked them. We'll definitely be back to try more dishes! (Bonus, the owner was very nice and friendly!) I was excited when I first read all the great reviews about this place. But it turned out to be a disappointment. First, all the items now cost a lot more, and are very small on portion size. Truffle Mac and Cheese just used regular elbow pasta. Oyster Po Boy had maybe 7 small fried oysters. $20.95 for Roast Beef Po Boy was not worth it at all, taste was mediocre and really small portion. Maybe this placed used to be good, but our experience was not so much. Even chain restaurant Bayou Jack's down the street has better quality Cajun food, and much better price/portion. In response to the recent reply from the owner: My reviews are based on my personal experience comparing with other similar restaurants in this category and area. I appreciate the offer, but it is out of the way for me. To be fair, portion size is based on personal preference, so it is highly subjective. I actually use a point scoring system based on: presentation, texture, taste, price, portion, ambiance and décor, accessibility, service. Overall score is still 3/5 based on the single visit. At the time of writing this, the Monte Cristo was not on the menu, but after asking about it I was pleasantly surprised that the owner went out of his way to still make one for me. And it was fantastic. My wife and I have eaten here several times before and we are big fans of the Rampart Rambler and the Truffle Mac. Highly recommend this restaurant. Here I am once again trying to see what this place is all about and they are closed again during hours they have posted as open. I have brought my family by before and have come by multiple times and always closed. I am here now starving for dinner (just after 7PM) on a Friday looking forward to try this place's food and nope, shut down. Don't post open until 9PM on Fridays and be closed before 7PM (on a Friday!). Need to put a note on your hours saying your hours are very tentative. Rating is based on availability and service because it doesn't look like I will ever get to try the food. May need to change the name to Nochf.
You definitely should hit this spot up. Yeschf is located inside the Oak St. Food & Brew food hall. Fat Tuesday (fried boudin balls) will send your tastebuds right to New Orleans. We had the Combo Po-Boy (shrimp/oysters), Pete’s Shrimp Creole and the famous Shrimp and Grits. Every meal we had was the best tasting cajun/creole we have ever had since New Orleans. Even if you don’t care for grits….give them a try here. You won’t be disappointed. To top off our lunch we had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. Don’t sleep on it!!! Thanks Chef, we will be back again. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

Located inside the Oak St. Food & Brew food hall, Yeschf definitely brings a taste of New Orleans to Roanoke. On the weekends, you can usually find the Brunch menu being served. It's limited, but the French Toast will blow you away. It had so much flavor that I didn't touch my syrup. It came with boneless fried chicken which added to the incredible flavor. I typically don't like Shrimp & Grits or Biscuits & Gravy, but it only took one bite to win me over. I'd make an exception for these and get them next time. I was able to try a bite of those dishes along with the Potato Leak Soup. I thought that was an interesting dish on the brunch menu, but one cheesy spoonful and I was wishing I could take a whole jar home for a rainy day. There are no drinks served, but there's a bar on the other side of the food hall. The owner, Rodney, is so welcoming and truly loves what he does and misses his Louisiana roots. You're bound for delicious food with a chef like him who loves cooking with their soul. I was especially blown away with Rodney's hospitality in knowing many folks names and saying hi to them across the hall. He even made a few exceptions for a few newcomers who didn't realize it was Brunch day and really wanted a smaller dish off of the brunch menu like the Truffle Fries. It varies on what fresh items he has in stock so the best way to keep up with changes in hours or menu items would be through the Yeschf Facebook page.

I can not get enough of this place! The breading they use on the the fried shrimp, oysters, & red snapper in the “Rampart Rambler” is the most flavorful and delicious EVER. Every item I’ve tried here has been incredible. Bonus: the chef is so friendly, always happy to answer questions or make suggestions if you can’t decide what to get… and his food is to die for!
