Very good cuisine, different choices but not too much (always a good sign when the menu is not too long and you have a few suggestions). The local tuna tartar was especially good, the Pacchieri and the Maltese sausage in tempura too. Fish was perfectly made. And dessert are up to it too. They deserve their score and even more. This is the fanciest restaurant we tried in Malta. We ended up here just by looking at reviews and they don't lie. And the best part is we actually met the owner and it's not who you think. Maggies has no faults. We are lucky enough to have spent Christmas Day at Maggies with their wonderful set menu. The food, service, atmosphere (and even little Maggie the dog herself) was wonderful. My father-in-law and partner both said the beef tenderloin was the best beef they have ever eaten. My personal favourites were the ceviche and swordfish, so delicious. Absolutely amazing food. Well presented and absolutely beautifully cooked. The front of house was very attentive, great at guiding you through the specials and menu. The atmosphere was great. Had the best experience right from the greeting to the goodbye. We were seated on an amazing table right on the deck. There is only one table their and we had a view of sliemna. We watched the sunset. Maltese wine was excellent and food as well. Food tasted fresh and we couldn't get enough. Food was amazing but service put it over the top. I love their patio, the restaurant itself is super cute and the service was fantastic although a tad slow as there was only one person working on the floor with 5 tables. The food was interesting and cooked very well, although I didn’t find it to be amazing. I believe that may simply be that they aren’t able to secure ingredients that are really good quality. So I do not blame the restaurant for this as you can tell that there is a lot of effort put into each dish and I did enjoy the food, just that it was not super memorable to me. They brought out complimentary chocolates that were absolutely delicious after I said that I did not want the complimentary shots that they have. 2nd visit - can only recommend and will return. Fresh focaccia with different butters is really nice. Mango & prawn starter - amazing, chicken starter - nice, chorizo pasta - amazing, rabbit pasta nice but with few pieces of bones. Staff is very polite, friendly and mainly knowledgeable about all dishes, even the daily specials. Very nice place and atmosphere, just service bit on a slow side. So where do I begin, we did not have a reservation and have heard of this restaurant (that is one of the best in malta). I was definitely underdressed for such a restaurant, but in spite of that, I felt like home. Compliments of the Chef for start, then wine recommendation, then recommendation of the meals, everything professional and high class for a very good price (considering the taste and service). We were able to get spontaneously a table for an hour and a half, so I was very pleased. To the food now, we had a small starter, like I said complements od the chef, then the carpaccio, then I had pork cheeks which were the best of pork I have ever had. My wife had a daily special, which was swardfish. I am not a dessert person, but my wife had a salted caramel desert. It is basically a lava cake like dessert. Fancy restaurant specialised in seafood. We had octopus pasta, swordfish with parsnip puree as main dish and carpaccio as a starter. They had really unique texture. So we loved them.
