When I am in Pursat, I make it a point to go to Madam Pizza. It is a bit out of the way but I like walking there. Just when I think I must have turned the wrong way somewhere, there it is! The decor is simple but nicely decorated with some Khmer artworks. But it is the service that "takes the cake". The shop featured three generations of women. The middle generation provided the cooking but it was the grandma and the 5-year old who made me feel warmly welcomed. The little girl even gave me an impromptu Khmer alphabet lesson. The menu is extensive (hamburgers, pizzas, various types of spaghetti, etc.) but the reality is a bit more limited. In fact, I was told that they only had seafood and corn pizza🤣. I often find that in Cambodian restaurants, the menu shows what might have been available if all the ingredients were on hand, as opposed to what is actually available. I find that endearing, somehow. The pizza was excellent as was the freshly made passion (fruit) soda. It took a while to make but that gave me more time to chat with grandma and granddaughter. By the end, I felt that I had not only found a good place to eat but I had made some new friends, too
