Honestly one of the best Japanese places around this area especially in terms of price to their huge portion sizes. I actually got a kids portion and couldn't finish it. Very good, well seasoned, comes out hot and overall service is always nice. They do get busy but I don't mind waiting if I'm getting good food. First of all this restaurant's sushi is always fresh & Awesome,(The best in town)and really good prices on everything!!! This place might not look like much on the outside but their food is always spot-on!!! This is a little treasure that you can drive by a thousand times if you live in Gastonia and never give it a second glance ( well you really cant miss it), this restaurant is definitely worth a stop for good Japanese food!!!! I paid $17 for this. I did eat the carrots and 2 pieces of steak and one of chicken. The noodles taste like fish and that they are instant reman. Also I have never had a ginger dipping sauce that tasted of tomato and the color in the photo. Service was good and the food was hot but I don’t think this is steak and chicken teriyaki. Unbelievable portion of exactly what I ordered at the drive thru now several times! I'll have to load pictures after my next order because I pull over and dig in as soon as they hand me the bag at the drive thru. Go ahead and drive right by and go to one of the many fast food restaurants... you will pay more at the fast food stops and you wouldn't guess it but I pull into the Lucky S and I'll order and be out in traffic while you are sitting in the other drive thrus getting less for more. Steak, shrimp combo is my go to and has always been perfect. Japanese cuisine you want - try here! See you soon! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This place is really good! Lucky samurai has been my replacement ever since Sake got set to fire. For $13 I get a steak and chicken combination plate and it doesn’t disappoint. Reasonable prices, big portions, great food! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I have to say while most places have truly gone down hill since COVID. The Lucky Samurai has improved. The food was hot and on point. The service could have been a little better. I got the shrimp and chicken combo plate and it was HUGE! Could definitely be 2 meals. The food was all flavored very well and the shrimp sauce is really good. The onion soup is awesome. Good place to eat sushi. Very tasty tofu soup. Minus one star for the cleanliness and minus one star for the smell. When we got out of there, the heavy fried fish “perfume” accompanied us the rest of the day. So, they have to do something with it. Could be better but the staff was super friendly. So, I definitely will come back for the food but take it to go.

Yummy food, good prices, fast service. They do need the floors cleaned as they are sticky. Update: I've moved a bit further out from this restaurant and was in the area last night. I suggested to my boyfriend that's what I wanted so we pulled up to the drive thru and ordered. As soon as they gave us our food, they turned the light off....I then looked at the clock it was 9:17pm. Unbeknownst to me they'd closed a full 10 minutes before we had even ordered our food and were still so nice to us. When I took a bite. It was the BEST Japanese I've had in ages. My box of food was FULL. So much food I couldn't eat it all. I continue to be impressed with this establishment even after the management change. I am not recommending to go at closing time as once I'd realized what we'd done I felt terrible but they were great! Thanks lucky samurai for your great service, food and for satisfying my craving!
