Stopped in for a quick bite while returning to our home in another state. With respect, the restaurant is a hole in the wall, BUT WORTH STOPPING IN. We ordered breakfast since it was the AM. I had a chorizo & egg taco and a bean, egg, potato & cheese taco. BOTH WERE DELICIOUS. My family ordered other items and they too loved the food. The salsas were also really good. My favorite was the guacamole salsa. We will 100% be back. Side note. The staff was also really nice. We stopped here on a trip to Flagstaff because of the reviews. We got the carne asada fries and it is not it. It almost seemed like half the portion for the price we paid. The fries were soggy and it felt like they had barely been cooked or they had just been sitting out for way to long. We did not even get a bit full with the fries. You would think that for $12 you’d get a full meal but that was not it. Also, believe when people say the flavor was bland. If it had not been for the hot sauces and the extra salt I put on them. I’d say they were flavorless. I’d say try a different place because you might be disappointed. Many good reviews are about their breakfast burritos anyway.

Very spacious and clean place with friendly staff, patio seating available. You order and pay at the front and they bring you the food. I had their carne asada tacos plate and it was really good, they bring you 3 types of salsas (red and green). I really enjoyed my meal here. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

Los Altoños used to be the best Mexican restaurant in Flagstaff and has now become one of the worst. They changed hands and they are just terrible. I ordered enchiladas there was no enchilada sauce on them at all. Another time I ordered tacos and it was the strangest taco I've ever had. It was tough and you had to tear it apart with your teeth. It's really sad because they were so good and they need to find somebody else to do the cooking other than the people thay are using now. I know several people who no longer eat there. This tastes like I went to my aunts house. Authentic flavors in every bite. We went on the weekend after being in the snow and we had the menudo and caldo de res and it was the perfect warm meal we needed. We also had a quesadilla al pastor and it was so good it tasted fresh off the grill. The portions are big too! This is definitely going to be my go to spot everything I go up to northern AZ. The restrooms were filthy. No wonder there was a big cockroach in the restroom. The food was nothing to write home about, pricy for a taqueria. $11.99 for a taco combination plate. This is what I usually pay in a nice Mexican restaurant and have complimentary chips and dip as well. No worth the money!
