Superb! Very friendly owners and freshly cooked delicious food. We are in line waiting for our table right now cant wait to try other dishes they offer :D Back here 2 night in a row and unfortunately my coconut honey hopper is not as coconuty as compared to first visit but still tasty! Rice and curry is underwhelming as compared to Lamprise (not freshly cooked). Lamprise is the best on cold chilly night - hot tasy mix of ingredients bursting with flavors! Very nice staff, authentic atmosphere and very good home cooked meal. We had lump rice with vegetable curry and chicken and chicken cheese rotti - the rotti was tasteful, great and we liked it more than the lump rice. The food here is simply incredible. I ordered the Cheese and Chicken Kottu and it was, by far, the best thing I ate during my entire trip to Sri Lanka, if not one of the top 20 things I’ve eaten in my life - a perfect blend of fresh crispy vegetables, chewy homemade roti, flavorful curry, and tender chicken. Friendly service and relatively low prices as well. Do yourself a favor and go here if you’re looking for tasty, local food. The menu has plenty of options. The place is small and looks unkept, but considering the prices it's fair. Real Sri Lanka food, the plates are a bit hit and miss, some are very nice, some have a questionable taste, but again, considering the authenticity of the place it might be that we are not used to them. We had the nicest food here while we stayed in Ella. The family that run this restaurant are so nice. While we were here there was a power outage in the village, but that didn't stop the owners, who provided a lovely candlelit dinner. Particularly enjoyed the Banana and Chocolate Rotti and the Chicken Kottu. My only regret is that I only ate here once in Ella. We greatly enjoyed this little family owned restaurant serving a wide variety of deliciously tasty and freshly prepared local cuisine. We ate here twice during our short stay in Ella.
