Life Museum is a restaurant and agricultural space located in the mountains of Pha Mee, Thailand. The name might be confusing, as it doesn't actually function as a museum or a tribal village. The journey to the restaurant is quite adventurous, as you'll need to drive up a steep and winding road. However, the effort is definitely worth it, as you'll be rewarded with stunning views, delicious food, and friendly service.
Things to know:
The Pha Mee area is a controlled area due to illegal border crossing and drug trafficking. As such, there are checkpoints where you'll need to show yourself.
The restaurant has a large parking area.
The food is reasonably priced same as in the city center

Awesome view of the valley & mountains with garden around cafe. Owner told that the whole place is a Life Museum “Back to Basics”, but name of Cafe in thai means “Grandfather’s Farm”. Good nice to come for lunch or early dinner as they close at 6pm

Worth!! Beautiful view with cake. A little salty for basil-pork rice. There’re rabbit, cat & peacock. Senior adult should be careful the walk way to cafe. High slope & curly.
Drive about 30 minutes from Doi Tung Palace and on the way you can visit Wat Phrathat Doi Tung and Mae Fah Luang Arboretum before arriving at this place.
Not too many parking spaces and then walk carefully down a steep road to the Cafe down there. Open-air cafe with stunning views of mountains and clear blue sky, in my opinion, the best time to check-in here is in the afternoon. The coffee was great and the food is moderate.

Awesome views over the Maesai valley area. There’s a nice breeze and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. Very popular place judging by the number of visitors on a Friday morning. There’s a decent selection of food but very average as far as taste. Coffee is nothing special either but drinkable. The real draw to this place is the view. The road coming up is extremely narrow, but luckily not heavy with traffic.
One of the most spectacular view 😍😍 it took 5 years to finish this shop. The ways to reach this coffee shop is quite challenging but it worth the view.

'Doi Pha Mi' (ดอยผาหมี) is located in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai (64km from Chiang Rai town that will take around one hour drive along highway No.1).
A small village on the border of Thailand and Myanmar is a home of hill tribe minority group named Akha
Doi Pha Mi have a lot cafes and some local homestays that most located on the hill side, offer a nice Mountain View.
We went to have lunch at 'Life Museum' near Pha Mi viewpoint, a stunning view overlook a range of mountain in front, the place is famous among locals so it can be packed during high season especially in winter and on the weekend
The road to Doi Pha Mi is a small mountain road, driving through the village on the hill side. There was a slope and sharp turns that you need to be extra careful
