We decided to make a stop at Calitzdorp on our way back from Addo Elephant to Cape Town. We stayed 2 nights at Lenies Hof with Mo&Steve. We felt very welcome. The cottage is a fully renovated old farmworker house. Very large and comfortable bed, a nice kitchenette with evrything you need and a very large shower. Very clean, nice patio. As it was Winter time, we did not enkoy the big pool. We must definitely come back in summer time. Steve and Mo advise us good restaurant and nice place to go for Port & Wine tasting.

Our family of four stayed at Lenies Hof for 2 nights on an SA road trip.||Our communication with Mo and Steve prior to our stay was easy and fast. The studios are re-purposed staff-accommodation units on their small organic Calitzdorp farm. It is abundantly clear that Mo and Steve have put a great deal of effort -and abundant design talent- into making these spaces comfortable and humbly luxurious. Every detail has been lovingly thought about. ||The little kitchens are well appointed with the right utensils for a few night’s stay. The shower rooms are spacious, with ample -hot and cold- clean water. Water-saving shower heads are fitted, ensuring excellent pressure while being mindful of the need to be frugal in this drought-affected area. The beds are very comfortable and full mosquito nets are provided. Mo made sure we had contingencies for load-shedding, something lacking in other places we have stayed.||Everything was spot-on. But the overriding joy for me was not just the excellent stylishness, but the impeccable cleanliness of this place. We really relaxed here and I think this has so much to do with the winning formula.||We were encouraged to swim in the tantalizing pool nestled between the farm house and the vineyards, which we did once or twice a day, with a view of the Swartberg Mountains.||If you are looking for a place to stay for a few nights (or even just for a stop-over) on the R62, this is an excellent choice. If you chose to stay here you are staying somewhere that has been envisaged and created specifically with you and your journey in mind. ||I couldn’t recommend the Studios at Lenies Hof more highly.

We had such a nice stay! Steve and Mo are super friendly and there hospitality is Just great. They live at a beautifull organic farm, with there 2 nice dogs. The pool had a great view and it is a nice refreshment during the warm days! The studios are cosy, clean, nice decorated and it has everything you need. The breakfast is the best we had in SA, with the fresh baked sourdough bread. The area has a lot to offer so you can definitly stay for a couple of days to enjoy!

We stopped at this spot on our way to Baviaanskloof coming via route 62 from Cape Town. While we had intended to stay only one night we ended up staying three nights with Mo & Steve. Lenies Hof is situated on an organic smallholding farm, beautifully restored with incredible eye for detail. The studios are tastefully decorated in contemporary style, with excellent beds and a nice shower. We had two beautiful nights on the stoep watching the stars over de Klein Karoo. During the day we enjoyed the little quaint town of Calitzdorp, Under the Pepper Tree, an incredible and lazy lunch at Books and Bites and stocked up on wine and port at the De Krans vineyard. Don't forget to get a tour of the farm and our brave daughter even jumped in the pool in the middle of winter.
We randomly chose Lenies Hof during September for our base on our celebratory first road trip after the easing of the lockdown regulations. We were welcomed by the owners and hosts, Mo and Steve and immediately felt at home. We didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised by our accommodation. Everything you need for self catering is supplied in the uniquely even quirky cottage. From the most comfortable beds, the well equipped kitchenette (I still think that the glassware was probably the best quality I've ever encountered in all the places I've stayed at) to the great shower, everything made our stay relaxed and memorable. When was the last time you had a braai using a good old fashioned fire pit? All catered for here! We also enjoyed some of their own wine. Will definitely be back for a longer stay in the future. PS. Their Viognier is a truly stunning wine.

Wow, if 1 word could describe it all. We loved our stay with Mo & Steve, incredible hosts who make you feel right at home. Best bed during out stay in South Africa, fantastic shower, refreshing pool with a view, lovely breakfast, studio with everything you need and a fire pit to have your own braai. If you are planning a trip to South Africa, you must stay a few nights at Lenies Hof to explore the Little Karoo, try some port and just sit back, unwind and look at the stars. We will be back for sure.
Pity we only stayed one night. Steve & Mo are great hosts and Mo's bread is worth travelling for. We recommend Lenies Hof if you want explore the Calitzdorp area and Steve can assist you with activities such as hiking and donkey trails. Another aspect of staying at Lenies Hof is that you are not staying in the village but also only 3 minutes from the village.

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Lenies Hof is situated on a small holding farm with beautiful organic vineyards, olive, apricot and fig orchards. The 3 spacious self catering cottages are very tastefully decorated and offer the comforts of a farm stay accommodation. |The swimming pool between the vineyard is a must in the hot Karoo summer days and evenings :)

This was a unique and precious experience that has spoiled us for future bookings, it will be hard to match! The self catering cottage was beyond our expectations. The views and scenery were breathtaking and Mo’s organic bakery is one of a kind and an ABSOLUTE must see. Without a doubt a must stay over when visiting the kleine karoo.
The most wonderful small organic farm to stay and unwind and explore the Little Karoo. With really dedicated hosts to make your stay unique and relaxed. The cutest little studio with an amazing view, the best bed and complete kitchen and braai outside. The best of all the amazing salt water pool. All of this just outside of the quirky town Calitzdorp.
