Excellent lechon! They slow cook a whole hog on a spit, then chop it up with a machete and serve it / sell it by the pound. There are also barbecued ribs and many sides, all are delicious!
There was a live band playing and people dancing, quite the festive scene!
We were there on a holiday and the traffic was crazy! Everyone was polite in letting pedestrians cross, as well as letting cars in and out of the parking lots.
It may have been busier because of the holiday, but I would guess this place is always busy. We stood in line, ordered, and got our food in about 15 minutes. During that time, several locals started conversations with us, telling us how happy they were to have us visiting.

We tried this Lechonera and El Mojito and concluded that El Mojito was just a little better. Don't get me wrong the pork here is fine, it did not have a weird taste, but it wasnt as juicy nor was the skin as crispy as El Mojito. It did have nice stray dogs if that's what youre looking for. The prices were reasonable. Parking was easy.

This place is so freaking awesome. It is located in Guavate on the Lechon Highway. Great music, and the food is amazing. From the morcilla to the pastels and, of course, the lechon is to die for. The picture is my mom dancing .

Honestly, I do not recommend this place if you are going for the food. The pork was terrible. It had a weird flavor. My buddy said it was just flavorless, but there was an odd flavor that is hard describe, very off putting. The atmosphere is fun though, there is music, dancing, a full bar, a bunch of sitting area. Definitely not worth the drive.

I couldn’t speak more highly of this place. It was worth the drive. The scenery was amazing. It was only 45 minutes away from Carolina, which was not bad got there and the people were friendly and helpful and there was music and dancing. The food was everything I was looking forward to and more.
