For some reason when I see the word steakhouse as a part of the name, I automatically assume that the restaurant is known for its high quality steaks, because the name indicates that this is what they specialize in. Well, not this one unfortunately, despite the steak options on the menu, the quality was in my view below standard. Fillet which is supposed to be one of the most tender cuts, was over cooked and not tender. The waiter, despite his years in this industry, seemed a little overwhelmed as he began taking our order for the main course, bypassing the appetizer and drink selection. Then when we reminded him, he still said he takes the main course order first then he’ll come back to take our drink and appetizer order.
Every time we had to ask for anything he made the hand gesture that “I got it”, rushing away attending other tables. The restaurant was either short staffed so he was overwhelmed with the number of tables he had to serve, or perhaps he was having an off day. On two occasions, both our server and another server spilled the drink on one of us and on our table. If you’re looking for an amazing experience at a steakhouse, this should not be one of your options. Sorry to say.

Didn’t have a great experience at all, brought my wife here for her birthday dinner. The appetizers were okay, we got butter and bread and the lobster soup but as soon as we got our main entrees it went down hill real quick. My wife ordered a 8oz sirloin medium and I ordered the ribeye also medium and they both came cold and lacking in flavor, sides ordered truffle fries decent and we also ordered loaded mashed potatoes and our server brought us regular mashed potatoes no biggie but how can you mess up mashed potatoes??? Server never checked on us after we received our steaks to try to get a new steak. If it wasn’t for my wife’s birthday I would definitely ask for the manager, Im honestly bothered I payed over $200 for this dinner. You would think a steakhouse on Santana Row would be one of the best steakhouse in town, not in this case. Overall I rate this place a 1.8 out of 5 stars. I would never give this place another chance, don’t waste your money or time here, walk a extra 4 mins and go to Mastro’s that place never disappoints.

I had the filet minion, and 3 kids shared the 48oz tomahawk steak. The tomahawk had 4 different kinds of salts. Which helped make each steak cut flavor differently. The service was a little slow but polite. He had to attend to different sections of the restaurant. He made up for it in the end.

Visited the steakhouse and, unfortunately, the culinary experience fell short. The filet mignon was surprisingly tasteless, and the rib eye, while better, didn't live up to expectations. The bone marrow, though rich, left us feeling like we consumed pure oil, raising concerns about cholesterol levels.
Adding to the disappointment, the steaks were served without any accompaniments – vegetables and mashed potatoes came at an extra cost. Even the bread incurred an additional charge, contributing to an overall sense of overpricing.
On a positive note, the saving grace was the exceptionally nice and polite staff, earning the establishment two stars. Despite the culinary letdown, the service provided a glimmer of satisfaction in an otherwise underwhelming dining experience.

The cocktails are well prepared. The fries and fried calamari are simple and tasty, the beef tartare has rich and balanced flavor, the, and the mac and cheese is authentic and delicious.

I’ve ordered New York Strip with pepercorn sauce on side and also bone marrow and parmesan fries.
Starting from bone marrow, the portion was good ; however , our bone marrow was cold.
It was clear that the marrow was prepared before hand and they just heat it up, but I think they didn’t put it in oven long enough.
The steak was cooked to the perfection, the downside was it was not seasoned at all.
Parmesan fried was okay.

The atmosphere and service at L.B Steak are the best in San Jose. This is my second visit. Although the prices are on the high side, the waitresses and atmosphere are of a high standard. But on this visit I was disappointed. For my menu, I ordered the Tomahawk Rib Eye Steak, cooked medium rare. As you can see in the picture, it looked very appetizing, but the tendons in the meat ruined my entire meal. The tendons of the tough meat did not chew well and were difficult to cut even with a knife. I was so dissatisfied that I doubted whether this steak, which cost $140 for 2 people per plate, was the right price for that day. The last photo is a photo of the steak I had left after finishing my meal because my jaw was so sore that I couldn't eat it.

Went here for a team dinner and it was a great choice. The service was superb and they took great care of us. My steak (filet) was cooked exactly as ordered, medium rare, and the truffle fries (that can be shared) are a must. The pork belly and lobster bisque are great appetizer choices. The bread was fresh and flavorful and the crème brûlée for dessert was very tasty.

Perfect location but the worst steak ever. Dessert was also so bad, too sweet and not fresh.

Ordered a 12 oz filet mignon, in my opinion it was dry and tasteless ($54.00), side of mashed potatoes, which lacked on butter and taste, it was really just a plain side ($8.00), a glass of Hennessy, which cost more than at most steakhouses I’ve been to around the country ($35.00) practically the price of the bottle. Unfortunately, the service from the waiter fell short too.
Will likely not be back, but glad I got to try the place for myself.
