Five stars for the atmosphere and the service. Restaurant was super spacious, everything was clean, restrooms were clean. Most of the food we tried were really nice. We like Ethiopian food in general and decided to try this place while visiting Sioux Falls. I called about a reservation on a Saturday night, but the owner said it was not necessary. Management was very friendly when we arrived. We got a two-combo vegetarian plate and a multi-combo meat plate, along with Ethiopian beer which my husband said was pretty good. Tasty food. It’s always different eating with hands for the first few minutes and then seems normal. Worth a visit!

While looking up best restaurants in Sioux Falls, Lalibela restaurant continued to pop up in my search. Never having eaten Ethiopian food before, my husband and I were intrigued and decided we would give it a try while we were in town. We were not disappointed! We ate at Lalibela on 6/9/23. The waitress was very patient and kind when we said we had never eaten this type of food before. She briefly explained how you eat with injera instead of utensils. She also was eager to answer any questions we had and to make suggestions. We ordered the meat sambusa as an appetizer which was my favorite thing. Piping hot, pastry shell was perfectly crisp, meat was flavorful, and the sauce was a wonderful accompaniment. For our entrees, my husband went with a combination platter while I had the beef tibs. Every bite was excellent. The only downside is we live 15 hours away from Sioux Falls, and we will have to try to find an Ethiopian restaurant close to home! Surprised to see that there were quite a few Ethiopian restaurants during the stay in Sioux Falls a few weeks ago, we decided to give it a try. The owner was very nice to explain to us about the food on the menu, and a little about the culture. We enjoyed the food, especially tasty to eat with our own hands, we also like the decoration

Amazing food! Our first time trying Ethiopian food and we will definitely be back. We had an chicken sambusa for an app, the beef key wot, and the kikile alich fit fit. This place was absolutely delicious!!! It was our first time trying Ethiopian food and it did not disappoint. My hubby and I had sambusa for an appetizer (I could eat these every day for the rest of my life and NEVER get tired of them! Yum!!!) and split a combo platter for dinner. Oh my goodness - Both were INCREDIBLE! Each item was so flavorful and satisfying! Fun fact: Guy Fieri visited for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. So cool! My hubby and I now have another delicious date night spot! You better believe we will be regulars now. Try it! Be adventurous! If you like food with flavor, you won't be disappointed! Super delicious Ethiopian food. It’s very authentic and the owner is the server as well. He takes very good care of the guest and makes you feel like at home. I am returning for more. Wow, Lalibela where have you been my entire life?! I have never tried Ethiopian food before tonight and I have to say it's AMAZING! I ordered the combination platter to go with the meat sambusa. I have no idea exactly what was what in the platter, but that does not matter. Everything was delicious. The portion was huge. I loved the sauce the sambusa's came with for dipping. I also loved the way the food is ate with the injera using your hands. I can't wait to return. The owner was friendly and service to go was quick! I was nervous takeout wouldn't hold up well, but everything was great! Don't hesitate! Delicious food that's a great value. I ordered the veggie combo takeout and the food was ready quickly and traveled well. It was well seasoned and there was plenty of injera to eat it with.
