I went all the way from frölunda to la Fonda for some chilaquiles and I don't regret any second, they're incredible, also had tamales and they were awesome. I wish I took a picture, but everything were too delicious! If you want to try authentic Mexican food, pay them a visit! This is comfort food for the stomach and the soul! La Fonda never disappoints and it's totally worth the trip to Gamlestaden only to taste Ana Gema's authentic cuisine. She is so passionate about the ingredients and authenticity and it shows (and tastes!) Totally recommend! I really hope there can be some seating space soon so one can enjoy the food on the spot ! “Hole in the wall” perfectly describes this authentic Mexican restaurant on Hisigen! This place is only open 2 days a week!? Yeah, but the food is fantastic in a cozy atmosphere with friendly service from Ana the owner. Definitely worth the trip!

Great food in odd part of the city. Lovely service. How off are you asked if you would like some more to eat at a restaurant? And the servings are not in small.

Local and authentic, this little joint gets you as close to Mexico as possible - even though we are across the globe in Sweden. With a funky little vibe, the space gives a much needed burst of color therapy in an otherwise gray industrial area. The food is pure and authentic. No tacos sold here... so don’t ask. The owner, Ana, is an absolute delight, and one of the most hard-working women in all of Gothenburg! Real Mexican food.

The best Mexican food in Gothenburg! I'm from Los Angeles so it was a real shame to find a lack of good Mexican food in Sweden. Little Meats on Linneagatan had amazing tacos but sadly it has closed. La Fonda is equally as good! It's in a funny part of the city but certainly well worth the short drive to get there! I'll be back!

Quite good restaurant. I ordered Tacos Dorados Ahogados and was impressed by the chicken roll. The extra chill source brought the flavor to another level! A taste of authentic Mexico homemade food. Highly recommended.
