Gotta say I was a little disappointed. Katsu is supposed to the the star of the show but it get like a supporting role. The appetizers were the best part of our meal. The presentation is great though, the atmosphere is fun and warm and the service was excellent. Just wish the justice was better.

Food was great. Service and atmosphere are awesome
Had to wait a bit in order to get a table
Sake 🍶was also great!
Only thing was a little of a pain was the small parking lot 🅿️
Overall nice experience and looking forward coming back.

My first visit due to how popular this place is. Tried the special menu item Unagi Katsu because I love unagi and I love katsu. The presentation and portion size was excellent and generous.
However, I learned that the wonderful taste and texture of the unagi is unfortunately hidden by the generous katsu breading. In other words, I will next time order a pork katsu menu item to focus my attention on the traditional ingredient of katsu.

Tonkatsu
Really delicious, I can strongly recommend the soup with the chicken katsu. So many delicious vegetables and flavor. I wish the curry dish had some stewed vegetables (carrots, onion, potato). Will definitely be back

Visited Nagoya earlier this year and fell in love with their red miso katsu so I was pleasantly surprised that a local spot offers the same style of katsu! It was delicious and legit. Miso soup and pickles also flippin' good. My husband got the katsu curry and really enjoyed it as well.
I'm a HUGE kabocha fan, so I was excited to see that they had kabocha "fries" on the specials menu--but it was more like slices of kabocha fried in panko. It wasn't super flavorful and the pumpkin wasn't cooked enough in the center--sort of disappointed, but not going to knock a star off since their katsu dishes were fantastic.

Authentic Japanese dishes. If you like fried meat (i.e., chicken, pork) this is your place. Service is excellent and makes up for the arguably higher price vs other nearby restaurants.

Best katsu I've ever had. Amazing atmosphere, and everything is well thought out. All the dishes look beautiful, amazing presentation. I knowyou'rer thinking 8 bucks more for fancier pork? ITS WORTH IT.

Oroshi Katsu with Iberico
I was very excited to try this restaurant after reading the glowing reviews. One thing that’s certain is if you are going as a group everyone needs to be present before being seated. There is always a line and this place is very busy. Also be prepared to park across the street because there is never any parking available. The customer service was great however I was very underwhelmed by the food, I had the Shishito Kushiage and the Menchi side both dishes had a crunchy outer coating and moist inside but the flavor was off, I didn’t taste pork, instead it tasted more like ground up mackerel patties, one reviewer mentioned how amazing the cabbage was but my goodness I did not taste what she tasted lol even with the salad dressing, I even tried my friend’s dish Mozzarella Katsu and the Katsu curry-I didn’t get a curry flavor but at least the mozzarella dish was ok, you can’t go wrong with cheese lol! The atmosphere was hustle and bustle, nothing more than that. Overall I was not impressed and I couldn’t eat my leftovers because my food wasn’t tasty enough, at least I didn’t break the bank, it only costed my $16 for my food.

Came here with high expectation based on other reviews and pictures but was disappointed by the flavor.
On top of that, they automatically charged us 20% gratitude for the party of 4 and a 2 yrs old toddler with just average service, not fine dining experience.
1. Pork katsu curry is the worst, the taste is bland without curry flavor at all. You can go to Katsu burger to get a much better katsu curry flavor. 1/5
2. Pork miso sauce katsu has a tangy sweet flavor but on the bitter, salty side. We ordered Iberico which is a famous pork imported from Spain but wasn't impressed. It just tastes softer, so you don't have to chew a lot. 3/5
3. Pork tomato & cheese (mozzarella) katsu tastes a little better since you can't go wrong with cheese, but the tomato sauce is not paired with it. 2.5/5
4. Pork katsu nabe soup is the best out of 4 dishes. It has sweet soy sauce base with lots of veggies and an egg yolk on top. However, it makes the crunch become soggy after a while. 3.5/5
Pros:
Every dish comes with rice, cabbage, pickle, and a miso soup. Their katsu is lightly crunchy and the meat is juicy. Dishes come out quickly.
Cons:
Lack of flavor, expensive but not worth it. They give you lots of cabbage to make portion looks big.
My family/friends/colleagues usually come to me for restaurant recommendation, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Won't be back.

I tried the nabe (was really conflicted about that and the katsu curry options), and while it was really good for those who like warm, sweet, soupy flavors during winter, I’m gonna come back for the katsu curry :) The chicken katsu curry was yummm
