Small unpretentious local place just 2 blocks from the beach with a delightful breeze and no touts. Enjoyed the music, the food, the prices and the service. Guacamole and chips were fresh and the habanero salsa the best we've had. Try the gringa cameronas! With the name King Taco -expectations were high. The tacos are large and a but dry ! Overheard an American complaining before we ate and I have to agreed to least enjoyable in Port Morelos so far. Tacos al pastor and empanadas were just awesome (homemade tortillas). We didn't like emnoladas and camarones (shrimps) but that's just personal preference. The owner is super nice. King Taco is truly king! Our only regret is not finding it sooner. On our 8 day trip we came back 4 days in a row and wish we could have gone all 8. The staff is wonderful and friendly, the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is great and relaxing and the quality and taste of the food exceeded our expectations. The beaches are what brought us to Puerto Morelos but KingTaco is what will bring us back. Thank you, King Taco! The first night we went there it was great. Second night (we went back because it was so good and clearly better than the other places we tried) a little less good, but still highly recommended. The tacos here are half the price of most places in town and even in the less-great night were the best we had in town other than at RoMarley. This is the kind of place I come to Mexico to enjoy. Family run, stamping out fresh tortillas in the back to order, great tacos of all stripes, and simple tasty drinks.
