Just left the Camping show and needed a bit to eat. I google the best home cooking restaurants in Cedar Falls and this place popped up! It’s so close to where we were was an added bonus. Nice greeting and place sit where it’s clean and open. Waitress came over right away with menus and silverware. Got our drink order and said someone would soon be other. The menu has a good selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner selections. Jess out waitress came over and we explained this was our first time here and not locals. My wife asked what she would recommend to us. Jess asked a great question first. “What are you hungry for? Breakfast, lunch or dinner”. We said lunch and she gave us 4 things said liked. My wife chose the Italian beef with a juice. Packed with plenty of meat, cheese and chopped onions. Along with a side of tater tot’s. I ordered the recommended hot beef sandwich with mash potatoes and gravy. Glad I got the half because it was plenty and a cup of their pot pie soup. My wife’s meat was somewhat dry until you dipped it. It had more onion in it than she would have wanted. The toys were fried a little much. Not much taste. My dish was amazing. Meat tender, gravy tasty, bread huge and mashed potatoes yummy. The soup was interesting and very good. Jess our service was more than helpful and prompted. We would come back again and try other selections. I would recommend this home style cooking restaurant to anyone. Until next time. Jrangel MY DBQ.

This is such a great place! It was a wonderful diner with really good food and service. The 3 cheese omelet I had was so good - loaded with cheese. A hidden gem tucked in behind a gas station. This place operates purely by word-of-mouth. And the word is good. Large portions of excellent food served in a friendly, greasy-spoon diner environment. The place is cozy by which I mean small, so during their busy times, you will have a little bit of a wait but trust me it is worth it, you also have the option to belly up to the old school diner bar. This is the PLACE TO EAT. The best diner experience I have had in years! The people working there are fantastic! A must stop! 10/14/23 another great visit! Tried the gravy on my breakfast burrito this time...and now I have a new favorite 😍! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Very popular local eatery, expect to wait. Small dining area, chairs at a counter as well. Food was amazing!! We had omelettes, crispy hash browns, and homemade bread (an inch thick!!) Truly a hidden gem in Cedar Falls. Great prices, good food, especially breakfast, the staff are excellent, and the general look and atmosphere of the place is cozy. We were looking for some place new to try breakfast and stumbled across J's homestyle cooking in Cedar Falls. Super cute quaint little diner with booth and table seating available. Super nice waitress. Food was all very good. Tried the pork lovers omelette, pancake, side salads and coffee and enjoyed it all.. pancake was delicious! We will be back.
