We had a nice dinner out. They had been super busy before we got there and ran out of fish so they had to prepare more. The employees were very apologetic, but they got us our fish super quick. I can't believe how good Ivar's is every time I go. Clams and chips, fish and chips, the chowder!!! They serve Chuckanut Bay Cheesecake with rotating seasonal flavors. This is one of the few Ivars I’ve yet to eat at.. so when I passed by.. I just had to.. and yes it is just as amazing as the other locations. The size of the fish is about 3/4 the normal size that I’ve seen anywhere else but overall the quality is good. It was fresh and prompt. Excellent customer service went above and beyond to compensate for low/no stock. Half of the Over 21 beverages weren't available and same went for the desserts. We ate in (for a change). Seating area was comfortable, clean, and well attended. There were plenty of options. Booths were only slightly snug for 4 and not overly roomy for 2. Bottled condiments are located at the drink station rather than the tables. Since we had over 21 beverages and were served at our table, we missed the cues to self serve on things. Not a big deal. Honestly can't compliment the staff enough. The "out of stock" list became an almost joke between us and the staff, but they were quick to make a strong effort to compensate; did not blame or make excuses, and worked hard to maintain a strong image for the business. Out of pocket was a bit high: $45 for two mid sized seafood and chips, 2 over 21 beverages, and a cheesecake. But not bad for a monthly 'get out of the house' option. Felt very comfortable in the dining area, much more so than competitors. There's an outside seating area, but it wasn't particularly welcoming, and it was getting brisk anyway. The curly haired kid with glasses was an awesome employee. He absolutely went above and beyond to help us decide what we wanted since it was our first visit. We went with the Cajun fish and chips, the clams, a Cesar salad and a cup of chowder. You absolutely don't taste the fish in the fish or the chowder and it's amazing. I've had a lot of fishy tasting food, but this was not the case. Everything was just perfect. From the base of the chowder to the batter on the fish, it was so good we said we will be eating there again. There is lots of seating and clean tables at that. Went here yesterday with my family. The restaurant is clean, the atmosphere is nice, the staff is great and the food is good. We brought a child so we are a bit busy with that and Paula went to our table and gave us our foods with a smile 🙂. She also went back and gave us some Andes chocolates and moist wipes later. She’s so friendly and thoughtful. We really appreciate her. We had a great dining and hanging out experience here
