11/15/2023: First time visit to the Toms River IHOP. Restaurant was clean, server was upbeat and the lunch was excellent. Josh, our server, did a great job! He was super nice, and the food tasted great. I had an omelet with American cheese and tomatoes, pancakes, and the square potatoes (which are really good). Someone at my table also had sausage links which I tried and they were also good. I also love the syrup flavors they offer. We went to ihop today, and were seated by the window, the window sill had dead bugs all over it. It wasn't that crowded and it took 45 minutes to get our food, others dining were frustrated as well. Bread was is hard as a rock. Prices were high also. We never had any issues here in the past, hopefully owners take action!! I've been here a number of times for breakfast and it was fine. It's been a while though. The last few times I was at this store, it was nearly empty. On this visit. It was also nearly empty. My companion and I ordered an appetizer plate to share. It took quite a while. When the food did arrive it was served on a cold plate. The waitress did not think to provide us with plates. Nor did we have any dipping sauces that come with all of these appetizers. We did finally ask and received plates and dipping sauces, the dipping sauces were served into go cups with the lids on. Now for the food. Easily the worst onion rings I've ever had. They literally dripped in grease when I picked it up. The mozzarella sticks were not hot and therefore very rubbery. The marinara sauce was not hot. I asked for Frank's Red Hot sauce as it is a advertised on the menu. What I received was Cholulu hot sauce. Don't get me wrong. I like Cholulu better, but if your advertising Frank's Red Hot and the customer asked for Frank's Red Hot, why would you not present them with Frank's Red Hot? It's time for this venue to close.
