There were 10 or more empty tables, but still had 4 groups of people waiting to be seated. They said it was because they only had one cook, but I still would have rather been sitting at a table than being cramed at the entrance Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

The young man that we had for a waiter was amazing very friendly the atmosphere was good I just I can't remember hearing anything in the background it would have been nice maybe to hear some Christmas music. Just my own personal thoughts the young man we had for a waiter was amazing we were there Sunday afternoon. We will eat at this one any day over the one in Waterloo Iowa we were at Cedar Falls Iowa. The staff isn't as friendly in Waterloo or anything and I've seen the kitchen no thank you. This location is an utter embarrassment to the IHOP name. If I was the owner, I would be ashamed. The restaurant was FREEZING COLD. People were wearing their coats while dining and when I asked our waiter about the heat, he simply said they had it but it didn't work very well and that the staff usually knows to dress accordingly. We understand that in this day in age most restaurants are understaffed, so we were trying to patiently wait for our food. But we waited OVER AN HOUR, and watched while other customers, who came in and ordered their food well after us, got served, and it wasn't even that busy. Needless to say we left without ever getting our food. Honestly I don't blame the staff for our poor experience, I blame the owners/corporate. I normally don’t write reviews, but I feel like something needs to be said about this location. We normally LOVE IHOP but this was horrible. First, it was like we weren’t sitting at a table— it took 20 minutes from the time we sat down to be asked what we wanted to drink, and another hour before we got food. We were never asked if we wanted drink refills even though we put empty glasses at the edge of our table and asked. As we were waiting, the host came out of the kitchen vaping, and saw multiple tables being sat without anything being sanitized or cleaned off. When we finally got our food, it was luke warm and cold, and couldn’t even eat right away because we weren’t given silverware. Then, when we got silverware it was so dirty it looked like it came straight from another table. The server Elijah just picked out one of the knifes and goes “that’s gross” and left the rest for us to use. At this point we just asked our waiter for boxes and checks without eating and just left. Definitely would not recommend this location, as you’ll pay $15 or more for a long wait and a disappointing experience. We were greeted with a note on the door that only cash was accepted. 40 minute wait which was expected on a Sunday morning. They were obviously understaffed and didn't seat all the tables. Our server took our drink order and then waited over 20 minutes to bring them. Thankfully, we placed our food order at the same time. While we waited we watched another table get frustrated and leave before getting their drinks. When we finally got our food it was good. Exactly what you would expect from IHOP. This location seems to be poorly managed and it didn't appear that a manager was on site while we were there. We probably won't be back. First time every visiting ihop, just moved here from NY was extremely cold inside like the heat was broken walked in and there was no one around, place smelled and booth cushion had huge holes in them. I ordered drinks then food not one time did one of the two young waiters come back to the table to fill a drink or check if everything was good, and I was the only one in there! The service was none existent I never review anything but I’ve never been to a place so bad! Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Service was poor due to server not checking in with us to see if we wanted refills or how the food was. When mentioned it she responded with she's been busy but there was only a couple of customers. Also observed customers waiting to be seated had to seat themselves and quite a while for staff to come out. Everyone also waited a while to pay at counter or staff to check in with them. I had such an awesome server so even though I waited for a good while I still enjoyed my time. Their pancakes really are amazing, a few were a little undercooked but I ate it all the same. The meal options there are also good. I can't quite remember my exact order but I had eggs, bacon, spam and toast and they were all good. The coffee was basic but I got a lot of creamers and had a whole pitcher to myself so coffee heaven. Hot and fresh food with friendly service. I ordered takeout and my only complaint had to do with how long I had to wait for my food. After coming here a few times I can sat the food and value is good. However, for a place known for their pancakes, there are major consistency issues. I have been to the same location 3 times and have been served short stacks with major differences in texture, size, and taste.
