I know they were doing a spin on beignets by making them more savory but it just missed the mark for me. Otherwise, the brunch was good. Definitely big portions. Service was fine (young kids though). We got there probably around the time they opened so it was really quiet to start but picked up by the time we left. Still had plenty of tables so don't think there's a need for a reservation unless it's a big day like mother's day. If oysters are what you want, Hugo's is the place to be. We started with a dozen Chargrilled Oysters, and they were served sizzling, and so, so good! The other items were okay - the Shrimp-n-Grits were good but a bit greasy, and the Hugo's Hash didn't have enough peppers, onions, or hollandaise (New Orleans food snob's opinion). But we sure ended on a high note with the Bread Pudding du jour (S'mores). The bread pudding by itself was really good, served with vanilla bean sorbet and whipped cream. We'll be back again! Steak (Atlanta Eats) was spot on again. Really liked the decor. The raw oysters were bland. The crab fingers were just awesome. Loved the flavor. I had the Stuffed Shrimp and they tasted great. My girlfriend had a crab cake and seafood egg rolls. I tasted the egg roll and it wasn't too bad. Interesting place. My server tho, was on point. Wish I could remember his name. He was great. Offered all the specials. Definitely a salesman, but not annoying. He knew the assignment and stayed the course. I really wasn't hungry (quick biz mtg), and he almost sold me into a few meals 😆. Instead, ordered the raw oysters on the half shell app. They kinda had a slight bite to them (if you know, you know🤷🏾‍♀️). I think the hurricane I drank must've delayed the full-on nausea I had heading home. With the immediate shivers. Was literally sick the next day 😩 . As they say, consume with caution. Great food, Great service but quite loud The food was good. It was my first time having oysters and we had steamed oysters and they were fresh and yummy, they brought them out with garlic and cocktail sauce. We also tried their blackened shrimp which was delish. We said we were going to share so they took the time to divvy up the portions into 2 servings. Nice touch! The service was great! We asked the server to bring a white wine that would accompany our meal and it was spot on! Only gripe is the place is very noisy, it is hard to hear each other speak. Hidden gem! Had driven past this place so many times. The food was AMAZING!!! Everything melted in your mouth and was delicious! So much more than an oyster bar!...!!update! My husband loved it so much he decided to bring his eighteen-year-old side chick here. Great date environment Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
From the car to the restaurant, everything went exceptionally well. The valet was courteous and respectful. Everyone working there was courteous and had excellent customer service abilities. There were many different dishes on the menu, and the meal was excellent. The Louisianan southern atmosphere was very enjoyable. Service was great here. I can't remember the exact drinks we ordered but one was the tequila old fashioned and the other was a spicy drink with tequila and both were really good. For appetizers we ordered the egg rolls which had to grow on us because the collard greens kept throwing us off. The blue Point and 1st place oysters rockerfeller were really good and we will definitely return for these and the drinks. For entrees we ordered the jambalaya and neither one of us cared for it. For me it was too mushy. We sat outside and there was a TV right in front of us. Even though the patio faces the street it wasn't too much noise and we could still hear one another. We will definitely visit again. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I found this place in passing and I'm glad I decided to give it a try. The service was great and the food was even better. For drinks I had the summer sip and the C&S gin and tonic. I had the oyster sampler and crab claws. Both were delicious. My experience there added Hugo's on my list of places to go.
