Best iced matcha latte I’ve ever had in Japan! The beverage is rich in matcha taste and smooth. Most importantly, it’s not sweet and has kept the genuine slight bitterness of matcha. I’ve tried iced matcha latte in other places in Japan and was often disappointed by the overly sweet taste. The one offered here triumphed!
Highly, highly, highly recommended!!! I can only say about good stuff. Only regular bikes were available when I got there but the regular ones were in good condition and was as good as the electric ones. I had no difficulties getting around the whole Lake Kawaguchi area. I rented for 4hours at 1,400 yen which I think is very reasonably priced. I would have felt rushed if I rented it for 3 hours as you may need enough time to take pictures, get around multiple parks to embrace the scenery, and have lunch. The toilet is super clean too. So I recommend using the toilet here instead of the one at the bus station which is very crowded. The cafe is literally just few steps away. Ordered a cup of iced latte after riding, it’s delicious.
The staff were very friendly too which made my experience extra positive and memorable. Thank you.

Around 200 meters from the main train station.
Very affordable rates for their bicycles (electric, normal or cross country types).
Do give this place a visit!
What ever you do don’t order the Waffles! I’ve never seen a chicken waffle with 3 little pieces of chicken on top of 2 dry waffles? The coffee’s good but who ever came up with the waffle idea needs heir head tested! Plus it cost a whopping ¥2,500 for 2 people. It was a rip off for a dish with no taste. I was so shocked I forgot to take a picture…

We dropped our bags in the morning to hold until checkin. We asked about the local bus, & the one man who spoke English said the ONLY way to ride the bus was to buy a 2-day pass. A few min later when we went to tourist information @ the station, we learned you could pay per ride, which is what we wanted. The next thing was checkin @ 2:25pm. The building we slept in was 4-5 blocks from reception, which we had no idea about, & we were rushed to drop off our bags because reception closed @ 8pm that day (even though the email I received upon booking said 9pm). We were catching the free shuttle @ 3pm & returning & 8:50pm from a local onsen. We ran to drop off our bags, & luckily they sent an employee with us to help, because it was 2 of us carrying 3 people’s bags since my father is handicapped. Lastly, when we got back @ night & fully inspected the room, we were amazed @ the newly renovated space! The decor, walls, flooring, toilets, etc. were brand new and clean. Unfortunately, they stopped there. The mattresses & bed frames were horrible. The mattresses were old, thin & slightly stained. The bunk bed frames were so old the front & back sagged so I was just lying on a bar that went across the middle. The bed springs were COVERED in rust, & I couldn’t believe that after the interior renovation they did, they hadn’t gotten new beds or mattresses. When we lied down, there was a dank aroma of rust & mildew. However, my mom loved the comforter. For $155/night, it just wasn’t worth it.
Great location and very helpful and friendly people. The common area was great for socializing and the kitchen was well stocked and very clean. Showers were easy and bunks were comfy enough. Private rooms looked awesome from the outside. Would definitely go back again!
I stayed at the dorm room. The bed is standard with curtains around for privacy, nice modern shower room (there was 2 shower rooms but enough because everybody didn't feel to take a shower at the same time :P ), separated toilet, a kitchen with enough utensils, gas stove, water heater dispenser, coffee, tea, sugar, washing machine, a tatami common room where everyone could gather and having a nice chat. The place is not too far from Kawaguchiko train station and the neighbour is very calm with friendly people. At night, it was very silent and people rarely come out (maybe because it was so cold).
At first sight it looks much worse than it is, the staff here are wonderful and the facilities, despite being basic are very clean and more than adequate. Beds are comfortable and location is perfect for access to Kawaguchiko station and only 15 minutes to the lake. I'd stay here again next time I'm in town.
