Did a takeout on a rainy evening. Place was super crowded for some reason and as to be expected for a lean family team of just one cook (the 70+yo dad), wife, and son. The huge crowd tells you that there must be something special here that they are after. Asked the son for recommendations for 3 pax and he promptly suggested the deep fried lemongrass chicken, luohan veg, and "sapo sliced fish" for a wet cold evening. Since it was crowded, I expected an hour wait so off I scoot to explore other areas instead of waiting on spot and getting frustrated over the wait. These did not disappoint. Delish! The chicken is flavourful, crispy on the outside, tender inside. The deep fried lemon grass strips are crunchy and delish when taken together as one. A ratatouille moment for me. The batter reminds me of the old KFC-like batter that my mum bought off the shelf past 30++ years ago. The luohan vegetables is spot on. Many places execute this poorly. The oyster sauce is not overpowering. The sapo fish, has lots of cabbage strips, mixed in with green and red chilli strips that makes the whole combi a pleasurable slightly spicy gravy when mixed with rice. Not overly salty, with a decent umami dose to it. Fish slices are fresh and chewy, providing a nice mouthful when taken together with the still crunchy cabbage and chilli. Will return for the authentic on-spot versions soon. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 1–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

The lemongrass fried chicken at this place is absolutely outstanding – a true flavor explosion that leaves a lasting impression. It's the star of the show, and I can't recommend it enough. As for the other dishes, they were pretty average. While they didn't stand out, they were decent enough, especially considering the reasonable prices. The restaurant itself follows the typical hawker setup, so there's nothing particularly unique about the ambiance. But honestly, that's not a major concern when you're here for the food. Cleanliness was on par with what you'd expect from a hawker setup – not spotless, but it didn't significantly affect my dining experience. One area where they shine is their friendly service. The staff was welcoming and attentive, which added a positive touch to the visit. In conclusion, I will definitely return to this restaurant, primarily for that amazing lemongrass fried chicken. It's a standout dish that's worth coming back for! :D Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 20–40 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes Thai Food

Some came in here thinking it's Thai restaurant. Some thinks this is just another coffee shop. Expect what is to be delivered and you wont feel disappointed. For me, it's a Chinese style chuu char chinese restaurant. You order the dishes you would like to try and it will serve with rice. Basic, nostalgic Chinese old school restaurant. What's in there? There's Thai dishes, Thai inspired dishes and chinese dishes. Was it good? Yes. Lemon grass chicken is something you can never go wrong for kids and adults. Prawn Tomyam soup that hits all the right sour, sweet, spicy, and salty notes. Balances out perfectly as how Thai foods aims to be. This made me want to try what other Thai dishes they could do justice. Ordered kangkung ( water morning glory) with sambal. Portion is so big I thought we ordered double compared to Penang ones. Nice sambal flavor and not too spicy. You can eat it as it is without rice. Their specialty? Fried tofu. Crispy on the outside, soft and smooth on the inside. Might even add that it is even softer than japanese tofu as it is homemade. Update: tried char hor fun. Wok hei is nostalgically fragrant and strong with that ko cha bi feel. And the best part? price is unbelievable of with that quality if you are in Penang. Probably can only get this price if you're living in Penang at year 2005. For those that stays in Sungai Petani, go and try. Decades of long business that's still doing well for the quality and price. This could be your next family gathering restaurant that you can bring you relative or friends from afar to come here, catch up over drinks and food, and relax.

3 taste thai style 👍 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 20–40 Recommended dishes Thai Food
Worth to pay for such a full fill delicious dinner. Strongly recommended 👌 👍
Tasty chinese food with decent portions. Serai chicken is one of their best dishes. The place is not air-conditioned, so it can get warm and stuffy depending on the weather. Service is friendly however food can take a long time to arrive if there are a few tables that ordered before you, so be ready for an hour wait.

This is not Thai food. Only the lemongrass chicken is good. The other dishes are below average. There is open Karaoke session but the volume is too loud.
