As someone from New York, I have a high standard when it comes to bagels and I have to say Homegrown Bagels impressed me with their lox special on everything bagel. It’s not quite a NY bagel but pretty darn good and the best I’ve had in California.
The staff were also very nice, helpful and friendly.
Just got back home from visiting family in Sonoma. My brother-in-law recommended Homegrown Bagels, so I gave it a go. First trip was to get a breakfast sandwich. WOW! I loved the amount of egg and meat that I got, plus the addition of avocado is always good. Toasted for that great, crunchy exterior, and the familiar chew of a good NY-style bagel (although I'm not as picky as NY'ers) was a great combo. The next day was a baker's dozen and everyone loved the variety. I think the only complaint anyone had was the veggie cream cheese spread was pretty runny compared to the others. We all assumed it was due to the water content of the veggies. The flavor was good, but the consistency was odd. But that's a minor complaint when everything else was fantastic. Our third trip there was for a bagel dog that my son requested. Great amount of food, and the toppings, while messy, were exactly what we wanted and he loved it. Great job, and continued success! We will absolutely stop by the next time we are in town!

5/5 New York style bagels baked fresh daily. The bagels has a light crunch outside and dense inside. We got a veggie bagel (add an egg) and a breakfast bagel and both were delicious. Highly recommend.
Best bagels this side of Manhattan! In business well over 40 years with the same owner and same baker. Get there early for the best variety. Everything is fresh every day. A pillar of the community, Stuart gives much more than he takes. Sonoma loves you!
Starting to realize that maybe I am an exception. $9.50 for a small egg and cream cheese bagel? Seems steep to me? Attached is a pic of half the bagel. You be the judge. It was good but not any better then I can make at home. Best bagels in Sonoma? Well, not a lot of choices. At any rate, service was good and again it was good. I have only been here a handful of times and usually before 10 am and they have always been sold out of specific types of bagels. Seems like they could figure this out and up the supply. I used the order ahead app and waited for it to say order ready but it never did. I finally walked up and it was ready but who knows for how long. We got the poppy seed bagel and it was a little dry. Seemed like a day old? Not sure. At any rate there is always a line so clearly I am the one that doesn't get it.
Great place to grab a bagel and coffee. Ordered a bagel with cheese, cream cheese, and avocado and it was delicious. Nice place for a quick breakfast bite of you are in Sonoma.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been frequenting Homegrown Bagels. My go-to’s are usually the Spinach Parmesan or Tomato Basil bagels to go with their fresh handmade cream cheese. Pictures here is the everything bagel Breakfast Sandwich with cheddar & sausage. All I needed was some dipping sauce.
