Food was excellent and the portions were huge. It's nice when you can just walk in the place, take a seat and be greeted in a timely manner. The waitress was polite and friendly as could be, but she didn't ask how it was during the meal (bittersweet in my opinion) or even after the meal. But I wouldn't let that stop me from going back. We ate Thanksgiving Buffet at Hometown Family Restaurant. We had Reservations from 10:30-11:30am. $18 per person. It was worth it. Great food, great service, friendly staff.... I would return to eat here again if I was eating out in St James ever again. Maybe next year Thanksgiving Day. Reservations needed on holidays. You can order take out too. Accompanied a friend for an interview in St.James and decided to grab a quick lunch here. I had chick strips with ranch. They fries were actually really good. Very crispy and they gave you a lot. Food was ok for this price and in this town since they don't have that many restaurants to choose from. The place is very spacious and clean.

Been here a few times. Each time the food gets worse. The beef gravy was like jello. The fish was like a foot long fish stick. Croutons in the salad are not croutons they are stuffing mix. Stopped in passing through town. Came in 20 minutes before close and they had a buffet special. Food was incredible and fresh, ice cream was great, and service was awesome! Worth stopping in!
