We have gone to their location in Isla Verde several times, originally awarding it two stars, then four. This place is SO much better. Open on both sides so you get a refreshing breeze, it is a very relaxing environment. Good service. Good, unusual looking, potent Margaritas. Decent prices. Bathrooms right outside. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Tacos Al Pastor
Recently tried Hijole - Cocina Mexicana at Barceloneta Outlets, and it was a vibrant experience. The ambiance was full of life, with good lighting and great music setting the mood. The food was delicious, and their margaritas were among the best I've had. Despite the slightly loud music making conversation a challenge, the overall experience was fantastic. The wait for the food was worthwhile, making it a hands-down great dining experience.

I ♥️ Hijole! where do I even start!!!! first things first they bring you little shots of their frozen margaritas to try them and once you do try it, you’re definitely gonna order them!!! both my boyfriend and I got frozen margs ( 1 jalapeño + 1 watermelon) 🍉 so SO GOOD! mmm with the tajin rim to top it off, then we continued with appetizers.. we got 5 hot wings (and for a Mexican place these were the best wings we’ve had around town yet, they were big and juicy, crispy outside), the mazorca was okay, you can tell it’s frozen corn not fresh, the guac and refrito dip was DELICIOUS though 😮💨 we then shared a trio fajita mix with churrasco, pollo, y camarones 🍤😍😍😍 everything about this place was good, the vibe was right with all the neon lights as well and the service was perfect! would go again and again!

Great food and atmosphere. Finally found steak that was cooked right and tasted great like it was grass fed. I'm picky about food and the food was great after day at the beaches and walking for 2 hours on the tour. Drinks are awesome! Too tired to write more but definitely recommend venturing outside of San Juan.

They were offering a soursop margarita on their menu that I was interested in trying out. Soursop is not that common of a fruit so I asked the waiter if it was available. He said he was not sure and needed to go to the bar and ask... He did that and he came back to the table and said they DID have soursop margarita available. So I ordered it and when I got the margarita it was literally straight up lemon juice. They made it pass as soursop (i assume they thought I was drunk already and wouldn't notice.)
Additionally the drinks menu had no prices anywhere. When I got the bill, each margarita was $15!!! That's absurd.

Not Mexican food, drinks are horrible and food came out cold, flavorless and they gave our appetizers to the table next to us, they didn’t even acknowledge. Prices are different on line than on your ticket. Don’t come!!
