We came here as one of the highest rated places in the area but still tapered my expectations. Before we turned up, we had to walk through the dark alleyway nearby to get to it, which felt unsafe. What made it worse was that the area surrounding it felt unclean and this bothered me because (and there's no easy way to put it) someone has cooked some fecal matter and spread the smell with a fan. This is not unique to this restaurant but I do believe that there's a shared responsibility between the local authority, the community and the local businesses. When we arrived, we found that the name had changed to "bistro 88* or something like that. The menu they gave was the same as the one online so this was the same business. Speaking of the menu, more businesses need to add more detail to their menus and this is why it lost a star. It's difficult to understand the contents of some meals (regardless of language or cuisine) a photo and a detailed description would help greatly. That said, the food was quite good but didn't blow us away. It certainly wasn't spicy but was fairly flavourful, which was good. Was a little doubtful about the restaurant but we came across a group whose guide had taken them here. So we sat down and ordered. Absolutely delicious food! We really enjoyed the Udang prawn, aubergine in oyster sauce, thai noodles. Excellent value. Really would recommend it. Very nice laksa!!!! The menu had 2 chilis next to it but it was not spicy at all. I had mine with seafood. Loved it. Harbour Bistro is the last one of a long row of restaurants. Just keep walking till you get to the end. Lovely location by the sea.
