The food was amazing, dessert was terrible, and location is amazing, however, we got served in rusty dirty metal plates and cups. Jug was dirty. We came in a group of 15 spent close to R8000 and we requested a song, the owner was not the friendliest, he asked me some wierd questions about what song I wanted to play and even had to listen to it before it was played 🙄

Worst experience i have had. Ordered Mac and Cheese and got sick for a whole day, still vomiting as we speak! This was not the mac and cheese that i had in mind. However the service and atmosphere was very appealing.

Great place. Went back for a second time. Will advise to book in advance as the road to the venue is not great and it will take you a while to get there. Situated on the beach!

What an awesome experience. Gem hidden in the bushes. Amazing food, rustic, beach effect with great burgers 🍔 and chips. Awesome Milkshakes and definitely kids friendly. Access to the beach made the day even more perfect.

Seafood Platter for One
A local icon, we decided to go see what it was all about while starting up the coast over Christmas. We had the seafood platter, which was brilliant (fish a bit dry - but let's be serious, those chefs were cooking for 40 other people at the time). The kids played in the sand and play area, giving the adults time to actually relax and talk. The service was awesome for a beach pub, well overseen by the manager, which we really appreciated. Thank you, it was an experience!

Preciously visited Grumpy's, see me review below but this last experience was awful. Our waiter Emanual kept forgetting drink orders, we waited two hours for food and we booked a table for 12 at 14h but they forgot to allocate a table, then when paying at the bar Sharice truly had a grumpy vibe to her.
Maybe stick to off season visits...

It was our first time here yesterday. The location is untouched and so beautiful. Unfortunately service from our waitress was quite bad getting most of our order wrong (we did repeat the order over to make sure) and waiting long for side plates (which we got up and fetched ourselves) and thereafter cutlery (which we had to request multiple times). Fortunately the owner/manager addressed our complaint in a lovely manner and we were allocated a new waitress who was an absolute star. I think perhaps the only constructive criticism I have would be that staff could be trained more, but I understand staffing and training can be challenging at times.
We were offered the full meals on the house which we declined as we did eat the food which was good (although the wrong order). The owner/manager insisted that she give is 50% off which we declined but our bill did come 50% off the food which was very kind. So thank you kindly for the gesture.
We will definitely be back. Keep it up Grumpys!
Sidenote: the route is offroad and can be difficult to navigate. We got stuck in soft sand on a wrong turn for over 4 hours without 6 year old in what was the middle of nowhere. Needless to say we made an adventure of it as the scenery was exquisite. One of the farmers helped us with his tractor to pull us out. Big ups to him for saving us at 6pm on a Sunday! Super grateful.
Grumpy's has a great chilled atmosphere. Tables are set up in the shade so even on an incredibly hot day, it was pleasant. Service is friendly but a little slow on drinks. Varied menu covering seafood, burgers, ribs, burgers and combos. Prawns are large and delicious. The mussels were in a delicious sauce. Calamari was average; menu said strips but rings arrived. The place is casual, kid friendly & dog friendly but definitely not wheelchair friendly!
