This is a pretty good little Mexican place. We were in Bernice Louisiana working for a few days and out hosts took us to Gonzalez the first day. We liked it well enough to eat lunch there three days in a row. The steak fajitas and the carne asada street tacos are excellent. I had them cook the onions on the fajitas extra well done and they were perfect. The chips are also very good and the salsa is good as well. The parking lot is gravel, mostly dirt and would be difficult to navigate with a wheelchair. The service was good and slow the first day, but was perfect the next two days. I highly recommend Gonzalez Mexican Restaurant in Bernice, Louisiana.

This little place was very good! It surprised me how good it was for a small town. The service was good and the food was fantastic. I ordered a steak fajitas and the stakes were thick and they gave you plenty to eat. The salsa was served cold, just the way I like it, and it was delicious! Will definitely be back!!!

I try to support my hometown businesses but I refuse to continue giving money away to places that just don’t care whether they customers are happy. I’m very disappointed in my meal and all I wanted was something hot and fresh while I finish my schoolwork. (Street tacos) I also had to send my food back bc it was the wrong order and the cashier argued that we asked for soft tacos, which I didn’t now I’m afraid to eat my street tacos bc I heard the cooks talking ish. Most likely I will not be back. Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10

I guess yall are afraid of giving people fries smh. The food itself is typically good. But short you really bad on fries. Discount it if you won't add more fries.

First time going to this restaurant and I have to say, it’s one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in a long while!! I would recommend that place if you want some good food

Good food here. The steak was delicious and all the other food was pretty good too. There is a great covered drive thru front entrance where someone could drop off everyone out of the rain before parking. However the gravel parking lot is not as handicap accessible as everything else. There is plenty of space for the small town crowd here... just don't expect to bring a major sized party of 50 here without running out of space.

We try to support local … Bernice : Ordered 2 enchilada Gonzalez dinners , queso and 2 drinks . There were two enchiladas on each plate instead of three , also , could definitely notice the cut back on the steak . The steak was maybe a tsp of finely chopped meat , and the bell pepper was overwhelming. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30

This review is based on the horrible quality of customer service we were just given. I ordered guacamole only to find that it was not in my bag. I sent my son back in to retrieve it. The cashier told him while she had written it on her pad, she had not charged us for it. They never give receipts, so I called back in to ask for the price of our individual items. I spoke with someone else, but the woman who initially took our order was in the background ranting and cursing about how she didn't charge us. Her attitude was unnecessary and unprofessional. Then, rather than admit she was wrong for not inputting the item, she started saying she gave us extra sour cream and didn't charge for it. First, if that is the case, she was wrong again because I asked for extra sour cream sauce, not sour cream. While the lady on the phone was trying to re-ring my total, the initial cashier was in the background screaming about how we should come bring them $1. Horrible service, given the fact that she made an error!

I went into this place thinking I hope this place is decent. It's in a tiny Town, and you just never know. Well, I left thinking wow, I'd make this drive any day. The service was great, it was clean, and the food was top notch. Salsa has a great flavor and the cheese dip is excellent.
