The food is most definitely not what it once was.. portion sizes have decreased while the price continues to climb.. presentation isn't what it once was either.. when wait staff where told ohh we have a new chef... im really sorry... the apology want sincere, nor did it come across genuine.. extremely disappointed..

great drinks and food today, and excellent outdoor area. Our food appeared to have been forgotten but turned up quickly after a reminder. All our party was surprised at the attire of one of the wait staff - a bit of a "togs, togs, undies" scenario with gym wear not being suitable for work wear, so hopefully that is not repeated. Overall, great place.

We came here for lunch. Cabinet food is soooooo expensive $14.50 for a roast vegetable frittata and $12.50 for a toasted sandwich. Wow, it was so small, basically 2 slices of bread and hardly any filling. Shame. Quite cold inside, even with heaters on. Coffee was good but took too long to come out and so did our food. Screw hanging out of one of the tables, which my son caught his pants on. Told staff who weren't that concerned. Overall, it was very disappointing.

The customer service was impeccable, the food was fast to come out, fresh, hot and delicious.
The staff made me feel welcome.
Inside and outside of the cafe was very clean.

If you've just left Tauranga on the way to Rotorua and forgotten to feed your family of hungry hyenas, then stop off to four14. Whether your hungry pack likes espresso, smoothies or kombucha, you'll get it here. Try to head out the back of the cafe, as it can get a bit hot in the main area. Nab yourself a table underneath an umbrella and park your pooch in one of the bean bags on offer like we did. The drinks were nice, however the coffee was only average. We had the chicken burger, the creamy mushroom parmesan stack, and a toastie - all the food was tasty, and staff were friendly. If you like antiques, there's a quaint antiques shop next door to nosey around. I'd go back if I was heading to Rotorua, but it wouldn't make my top ten bucket list of cafes to go to in Tauranga
Love the coffee. Getting a really good double piccolo can be tricky.. these guys nail it every time. 😍☕️
