All the burgers and sandwiches we ordered were really good. Surprisingly, they do have good spicy options too. Wish they had french fries in stead of the nachos. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

The bar and main room is beautiful, it's made of recycled and handmade materials from the owner himself. The food was absolutely superb! Our service was also excellent. A friend and I came after work for some food and drinks and though the restaurant was a bit slow that didn't slow down the experience one bit. Our server that served us had a great personality and was rich with knowledge of the place and of drinks of course. Would recommend to anybody! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We were in the mood for good burgers for lunch and heard this place had the best. They did not disappoint. I had the spicy one with the ghost pepper cheese and it was great. My wife had one with mushrooms that looked very tasty. She enjoyed it a lot. Interestingly the table next to us came in and ordered the exact same burgers, so I think we may have made the right choice! My kid loved her chicken strips as well and the cheese curds were great. Awesome food experience.

Burgers are really good! I’m disappointed the fries cost extra though. The extra seasoning is also definitely not worth it. It comes with barely seasoning and the taste is barely noticeable. Would recommend the fish tacos though! Overall, if you want a nice burger, then come here for sure. Otherwise, I don’t think there is much worth going for.

Fun place and pleasant staff. Burgers were kinda dry but they were nicely dressed. Some of the sweet potato fries were room temperature. That being said everyone seemed to enjoy our food. The blue cheese dressing was phenomenal. I would definitely come back if I get to the area. Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Cheeseburger

Extremely disappointed in what they describe as the “house braised italian beef” it came cold, the cheese wasnt even melted.. beef was chewy and tough and even the au jus was cold.. $18 for something i wouldnt serve to my dog.. id recommend if you decide to eat here to stick with a burger Price per person $20–30

Went to Farrens for first time on a Saturday evening. About a 20 minute wait but plenty of space at bar. We got the nachos and grilled chicken sandwich. Food was decent for the price but our friend got the ahi tacos which were absolutely amazing. Atmosphere and Terry and crew, (staff), really make the establishment. Super friendly and accommodating.

You guys know I'm big on cleanliness and despite being short-staffed it still was. Table, plates, chairs, floor, etc was all good, but the utensils had hardened soap on them. :( I cleaned them up and dove into their fantabulous burger and salad. They did have a sign stating they've had to re-source some supplies, and I'm not sure if the ground meat was one of them or not. Maybe it was just overcooked for the first time ever in my dozens of trips there. None the less, I'm still a huge fan and will eat there again. I'm glad they're weathering the COVID storm and staying optimistic. Great team there!

If I could give Farrens 100 stars, I would. My husband and I held our wedding reception at Farrens and everything was incredible. Carolyn (the owner) was so accommodating and flexible. She eased all of our concerns and even when we had a tight budget she was willing to work with us. When we were able to expand our budget, she offered helpful suggestions and even organized a dessert bar for our guests. They helped us in the set up and tear down of our decorations, and even kept our leftover desserts in their fridge so we didn’t have to take them to our hotel. Carolyn’s staff are also incredible and our guests were super impressed with them. (Shout out to Hannah, Maddy, and Gretchen!) The food was amazing and staff was able to offer great suggestions to guests who couldn’t decide. The space is beautiful and I could NOT believe what an underrated place it is for a reception. The hardwood floors, brick walls, and marble tables are amazing and all of the plants make it so you hardly need anything to make it feel special. I could go on and on, but if you’re considering Farren’s for your wedding or other event, just know you’re picking the right place. I had several guests tell me that they couldn’t imagine a better reception!

We have heard so many things about Farren's and finally had the chance to eat there yesterday. I enjoy a wide variety of foods, but my partner is more of a burger guy. I knew Farren's is famous for their great burgers. We were greeted warmly and seated and given menus. Mr. Burger guy decides to order BBQ and fries and I had tuna tacos. Everything we had delicious! Staff inquired often about our food and if we needed anything. We had super good service, even though they, like others, are experiencing a staffing shortage. We are thrilled to support a family-owned business, that, like all others in the restaurant/ bar industry has taken a massive hit due to Covid. Since Illinois is just entering Phase 5, it was wonderful to see many people downtown, patronizing these wonderful places. We will return to Farren's soon and we both will have big, beautiful cheeseburgers! I can nearly taste mine already! I highly recommend Farren's!
