This was our first time eating here. We were hearing positive things about it, so we had to check it out. First of all, it was very clean, and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. They have a nice menu with lots of selections. I ordered steak nachos, and I thought they were really good! It was a very large portion and was nice and hot! My husband ordered the Birra tacos, and he loved them! They came around and checked on us numerous times and answered some questions we had. Very nice people! Very attentive! And the day we went, there was a steady stream of firefighters coming in to eat. So I think the word is getting out there that this is a nice place with good food! I wish I had a place like this by me back home! The food was incredible and the staff were great, I wish I had a bigger stomach to try everything. I started off with the chori queso, which I absolutely demolished; it reminded me of the amazing queso I'd get out in Dallas with my coworkers. I then got my birria tacos which were absolutely delicious, juicy, and cheesy. Lastly I got a pork and bean pupusa which reminded me a lot of the pupusaria I used to go to back home in NY. My only wish would be that the curtido (pickled cabbage) be allowed to ferment longer, but otherwise taste was great. Price wise this place is perfect, I love that they offer a la carte options. Overall I'd be here almost everyday if I lived close by. Definitely deserves and lives up to the stars it has! I took my 2 guys and myself to Esmeralda's after spending two days loading & unloading a small U-haul truck as a Reward for Job Well Done. I am in the process of opening a very small Party, Event and Food Gift Shop in the area and thought we deserved an excellent lunch. Dang! The Chalkboard said Tamales ...Yes ..Esmeralda is on point and so sweet and helpful. When I ordered she added that these are Central America Tamale and I said Yes ...need 4 (I lived in Texas and worked in the MS Delta so I thought I knew) Man ...these things are huge and so tasty ...I ate 1 and took 3 home to the Hub. The red sauce on the side is excellent. The chips and Salsa on the table was fire. Add a couple of Coronas and your lunch is perfect. Oh ...side note - my 2 guys had the steak fajitas with empty plates at the end. Go. Check this place out!!! Found this local spot by Google search when looking for dinner options. The service was excellent and very helpful when asked about the selections. However, the food was the highlight of the night. The popups tasted authentic, the torta de asada and the Birria tacos were beyond delicious. I would highly recommend this place and we will be back for more. yummy! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I almost hate to post about this place (wish we could keep it for ourselves) because it was so good! We stopped by because of a Google search I had done for tacos in the area. We would have never discovered this place otherwise. Things on this side of town usually don't make it! Soooo, blow them up and keep them here!!! This is a small little taco shop with a handful of tables. It's not a "nice" Mexican restraunt, but don't let that fool you. This will be a new go-to for tacos for us! The food was cooked and seasoned well, and the proportions were spot on, in my opinion. The people there were so friendly and customer service oriented. I definitely recommend it and will be back!! Great....I thought I was at the wrong place from the outside. But the food and people are great. I think I saw someone's grandma in the kitchen. 🧐 The street tacos and Pupusas were great and one of the few places making them. This was our 1st visit and we really enjoyed it. The restaurant was extremely clean and everything was very organized. You have to order at the register instead of your table. We ordered guacamole a.d it was some good stuff. My son had the fajita bowl and he really liked it. I had the chicken gorditas and it was delicious. The staff checked on us repeatedly. Great food, nice people. If you live in the Olive Branch area, you should definitely check this place out. It's not the fanciest restaurant, but nevertheless, they do have great food. Shop and dine local. The owners are very nice.

A friend suggested Esmeralda's to me knowing how much I love Mexican food. Customer service was top tier. I ordered my food to go because they were full. It is a smaller sized restaurant but nice. I ordered my food after asking many questions. I got bean and cheese pupusas, chicken street tacos, and the guacamole Mexicano. Because it was brought home to eat, the tacos fell apart, but they were very tasty. The pupusas were very good and again I am sure they are better dining in. I was disappointed in the guacamole.
