We only had lunch here so can't comment on accommodation. The food however was surprisingly good and affordable considering that when we walked in the waiter and chef were two giggly kids in their mid teens ☺️. We had the noodle soup, which was basic but made with clean bottled water and filling, and the the ginger pork, which was very delicious. Little English was spoken, but enough to take our order. The location is hidden 500m off the main road and the whole restaurant faces the river where local kids play and buffaloes bathe. It is a diamond in the rough. The family that runs it still have to iron a few things out, but we are confident that will happen with more experience and for the time being we give them 5 starts to support their local business and enthusiasm.
Great, quiet option adjacent to the river with thrifty rooms (50,000 Kip) and a quiet, welcoming atmosphere. The only drawback was the lack of water in the morning when I was there - disabling one from washing (or flushing the toilet). This may not have been the guesthouse's fault, but underscored the possible need to invest in a water tank :-))) if it weren't for that, it would get a solid five stars!

I read other people's reviews and I think it really depends when you go. For me, it was like your little brother cooking you breakfast. The pan must not have been cleaned properly since the first omelet had some gnats in it. The coffee had a kind of film on it. The other omelet was okay and the pancake(substitute for banana cake on the menu) was actually very good. I had wanted to like it but I can't truly recommend it. Pros though- it is a nice location and interesting walk though the village to get there. The prices are good.
Don't go here. The rooms are dirty, lots of insects, no moscito nets and overpriced for that. The shower is not really working, the fan wasn't working at all. The food is the worst I've had in Laos, the portions are tiny and you wait 1h to get the food... apart from that, the road conditions to get here are even worse than the other roads. Eco stay or the salayman are the better options for the same price.
Lovely little eatery tucked away near the river leading to the Kong Lor Caves. We stopped here on our bikes after a cave visit for some lunch. The deck wasn't finished when we were there but looks good now! Will visit again :)

Nice place for a night, no Wi-Fi but a Nice restaurant at the river side. The puppy there that we called "Rusken" was adorible. We started to give him a hear cut and a bath. Are you in the area, treat him well, we miss him.
Great small place to stay at before visiting the cave. Cheap rooms, but very nice. Non WiFi though, but then again, you're in the middle of nowhere. Would recommend!
