This is the most difficult review I will have written recently. It's not because of the mediocre food as it turns out, nor the great interior layout and rustic/elegant multi-level creek-side ambiance, or the near perfect table service received from our waitress Valerie - it's because I was lied to by the person sent to our table to take and enter our food order. I'm a single dad you see, and I've lived in Chiriqui for more than 20 years. My two young children and I enjoy trying new places in and around David and Boquete. We'd seen Döbo on previous daytrips to Boquete but weren't impressed with the reviews we've read about the place. Because it's always intrigued us from the road we thought we'd look past the poor reviews and try it for ourselves just to see. We arrived at 5:45pm for dinner. It wasn't crowded. We sat at one of what turned out to be about 4 or 5 occupied tables. First person that showed up to our table was Valerie, one of several servers, who presented us with menus and took our drink order. When it was appropriate I asked Valerie for her own personal food recommendations in light of the poor reviews which I told her I'd seen online. Her first recommendation was the Brisket Tacos, which after some deliberation ended up being my choice for dinner. However, much to my surprise, the server sent to our table to take our order and enter it into the system told me that the brisket tacos were not available - he told me that only later in the evening would they be available, like between 8pm and 9pm he said. I asked him, are you sure? Yes, he said. And I asked him again, are you certain - not unil 8pm or 9pm? And again he said, yes, the brisket tacos were not available and would not be available until 8pm to 9pm. Hmmm, so I ordered the Wrap de Carne instead. Toward the end of my meal I noticed more than one plate of Brisket Tacos being delivered to tourists staying at Hotel Selina (which adjoins the restaurant) who'd arrived well after my children and I and had been seated at some of the previously unoccupied tables around us. When I confronted the server who'd taken and entered our order about it he admitted that they'd had the brisket tacos all along but that he'd given preference to the tourists staying at the hotel over me, a middle-aged man with two young children. He lied to me. It leaves me feeling slighted, empty inside, hollow. It's a dining experience I've not previously encountered. So, needless to say, I'm leaving my thoughts and feelings about my experience here, online, along with the other poor reviews I'd previously seen and read about Döbo in Boquete. I left a good cash tip for Valerie - I placed it in her hands directly and requested that she not share it with her undeserving coworker. I may one day go back - maybe, maybe not. There are so many other restaurants in Boquete, restaurants where first come, first serve reigns, and where I don't have to be concerned about being lied to or made to take a backseat to other clients who rightly or wrongly appear to have received preferential treatment. I encourage you to at least stop in for a drink at the bar, it's a pretty cool place - nice layout, impressively designed.

I loved most of the options in the menu - vegan and vegetarian friendly.
I had lentil curry soup as a starter, but it was such a generous portion that could easily be the main course. Rich in flavor, well spiced.
As my main dish I had tofu tacos made from yuca. Very creative and delicious. We also tried cheese burger with the best bread bun!
Slightly full but still tempted to try the dessert. The strawberries and cream were way too sweet for me but I liked the refreshing yogurt ice cream.
I would definitely come back to try more dishes.

I can’t believe this place has so few reviews. I believe it’s a bit newer but wow! I just had tacos because I was so tired and figured it would be easy, and they blew my mind. I also had the geisha dessert which was delicious and had complex and tasty flavors. The crew here is so kind and welcoming and attentive!

Great food and lovely atmosphere and location. It did take a while for them to bring us the menus and the table was wet (and when he dried it with a cloth he made it even more wet) so that's why 4/5 stars for service but after that dinner was great. Lots of vegan and veggie options and everything was delicious! Good prices too. We will be back!

Been there for diner and it was amazing! Lots of veggie food, great service, place is nice and the prize compare to other restaurant what we meet is very reasonable (even cheaper than others) and definitelly nicer. Thanks!

This restaurant had a great atmosphere, the food unfortunately was terrible with all of the fresh vegetables and food in Boquete. Seems they cannot get it right. The bartender was the best part of the experience, he was excellent, he knew how to make a drink.
We tried it, but will not be back!! There are too many other great restaurants in Boquete to waste your time here.
And it was more expensive than many of the other restaurants.

The food here tastes incredible. As a vegetarian, I was very happy to see so many dishes including tofu. The tofu tacos were my favourite...absolutely delicious. The restaurant decor has a beautiful vibe, and the food prices and portion sizes are reasonable. The service could be improved as staff members take their time to acknowledge you when you first walk in, sit you down and take your order; it's a little slow.
