This is what a dining experience should be. Even though this location has been open for 19 years, the menu was exciting. It felt like a new venture. The waitstaff was experience and skilled. The head chef created the well thought out menu. The chefs made the food as everything was magnificent. Our calamari and shrimp appetizer was light and not greasy. Our butchers pizza was perfection. And finally the goat cheese beignets were the standout items. Move over NOLA. These beignets need a patents. With a sprinkle of black pepper and drizzle of honey. I live here now. You can buy a bottle of wine and if you don’t finish it, they will cork it and send it home with you. No pressure to drink it in its entirety and then get on the road with a buzz. Otherwise, you can try one of their many wine flights. The way the flights were named was well represented of all the varietals available. The wines were elegant and planned well. Different locations around town. Two in Austin. I think some in Dallas and Chicago. Everything here made me smile. My wife and I went to CRU for a lunch date! We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and the food. The options on the menu were great with the presentation and taste being top notch. We were helped by Jameson today. He was so helpful, courteous and understanding. He worked with us to accommodate our dietary preferences and was very well informed! We were so impressed by this place! We came here for dinner, dessert, and wine, and everything was incredible! The cheese fondue was the best cheese fondue we’ve ever had. We also had the goat cheese beignets, which were so unique and delicious. Then for our main course we had the braised short rib and a pizza (both incredible). We also had chocolate fondue for dessert, which rounded out the perfect meal. The wine flights were good and so fun too! My first time at Cru in the woodlands. It was quite busy but the servers still pay attention to our table which is nice. Their food seems to be bigger portion than the one is Houston. They also have different kind of wine selections on their flights. I always love the big boys flight wine selection in Houston but it was different in the woodlands but I tried their Time in Italy Flight No. 11 and the Sexy Reds Flight No. 10, my hubby had the King of Cabernet which is flight 12 I think. We also have their Black Truffle and The butcher Pizza, Fritto Misto and their Ceasars salad which is very simple and I hope it is much bigger portion for the price. Best casual wine bar in the Woodlands! This place has amazing prices, romantic ambience and the best location. Perfect spot to enjoy drinks after shopping. I’ve been here multiple times and the service is always impeccable. Skip Sixty Vines across the street and come here instead, your wallet will thank you. This has always been a special brunch place for me but this time the food was abysmal. No flavor at all, the avocado toast barely had any on it but rather unflavored wilted cucumber and tomatoes dominated and just gross without any other flavors or even balsamic reduction or anything for some flavor. The strawberry Belgium waffles were bland and dry. Just not worth it. Only good thing about this visit was our server was nice and the mimosa carafe

The food was ok. Not a huge selection for vegetarians, but was enough. Service was poor, but it was packed and I don’t think there were enough servers. The tables were kind of gross, needs an update or refinishing.
