Tried the scone - it was more like dry bread, and then the next day one of the tarts- super thick crust with no flavor. But I enjoyed the outside seating area for my okay tasting flat white. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

5$ for this. With blop of salt on top of it; served by staff who looks like cannot be bothered. They get customers because of location....but my goodness it's bad. Avoid at all cost. Service Take out Meal type Other Price per person $1–10 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Came here because someone recommend. it’s 8 o’clock in the morning. Not sure if you don’t like Saturday mornings or if it’s the weather but definitely had to do an effort to be friendly. for me, not the best pies and customer service depressing. Could spend 23 dollars on a better meal with happy service

They know how to make a beauty pie. Have got the classic steak and cheese nailed. ($7 though)

Coffee was good! Had to opt for a dry dry dry chicken and salad roll. Would have gone back and asked for mayo or something if we weren’t travelling through. No chicken pies (unsure if sold out, but generally it’s good to have an alternative to red meat). No spinach and ricotta rolls left. Husbands pie was average. Most NZ bakeries are top notch. Read some reviews after - maybe they have the travel through market so don’t try as much as they should. Get a Jimmys in Roxburgh (or the servo) instead.

Great food really enjoyed. The rocky road was yum but did not have any lollies in it. The pastry on the sausage roll was superb!

Bought two “ Apricot Turnovers”, very disappointed hardly any filling and they did not taste fresh; pastry particularly. Contents tasted like berry jam, not apricot as requested.
