Beautiful little local restaurant on the beach, perfect for a sunset meal. The host is very kind, simple local offerings, and the food was excellent. Doesn't look like much from the street, but the best local places rarely do. Definitely recommended!

This is a family-run business. We had dinner here on our 1st night while staying at "The Jungle, Merida". Doña Clara and her husband, Don Jehu, & son, Walmaro, are amazing people with so much hospitality and kindness.
We had chicken and beef for dinner and it was very delicious and the price is so affordable. This is why supporting local is better as it helps business-owners like Doña Clara and her family to grow. We also spent a lot of time talking to her family that night and we got to know them throughout our stay in Ometep Island. It was like magic dining lakefront with fireflies all over the place.

You have to go to Dona Clara. A small authentic and family owned business, with a view on the lake. During our 5 days in Merida, we went everyday to Dona Clara. You can get breakfast and lunch and dinner. Dona Clara will let you know, which meals she is offering. You can also let her know, when do you want to breakfast and she prepares everything till you come. We ate tasty fish, gallo pinto and meat and we drank a great lemonade (she also offers coffee). We can highly recommend this place and the family behind it. Thank you Donna Clara for the great food! You are really special!

Very nice place for a little rest in case you make a trip around the island. Very friendly owners. Cold beer. Didn't had food but sounded tasty and looks like the mum cook by herself. Nice view on the lake.

Großartig! So viel Liebe für dieses Familienrestaurant. Auf meiner Reise durch Nicaragua habe ich mich nirgends so willkommen wie hier gefühlt & die besten Platanos des Landes gegessen. Es gibt hier keine Karte, die Köchin bedient einen hier höchstpersönlich und kocht dementsprechend nach Vorlieben und frischen Zutaten des Tages. zuletzt ist die Aussicht vom Esstisch aus traumhaft! :) ein absolutes MUSS wenn man auf Ometepe ist

Während unseres Aufenthaltes waren wir jeden Abend bei Clara essen. Die ganze Familie ist sehr nett. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, abwechslungsreich und es gibt leckere Säfte. Das Obst dafür wird frisch von den eigenen Bäumen gepflückt und kommt in den Mixer. Mango, Maracuja und vieles mehr. Wir vermissen das leckere Essen jetzt schon.
