I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food here and the assistance we received from our waitress - Amber. It is located right opposite the Church in the town. I ordered Springbok steak and hot chocolate. Both were very good, but the hot chocolate was one of the best I have had anywhere so far. The waitress was also very friendly and helpful and food was served fairly quickly. If you travel through Graaf Reinette, do consider this restaurant. Had a good, flavourful Americano & a beef burger with salad. Burger bun is too thick, but patty was tasty & the salad was great. Service is good & friendly. Parking at the back, with no sign where to enter the restaurant, is not good. The building has great history & still serves as the Club. Check out the scale model steam train in the lobby. The restaurant is well situated next to the beautiful church. The bell can be heard every 30 minutes. The restaurant has a play area outside for kids and an interior an exterior seating arrangements. I ordered a beef burger with chips. The dish was R102 per serving. The bun tasted home made and was hard/difficult to cut with a knife. The beef patty tasted gamey, which was surprising. The French fries were too oily for my taste. Overall, the experience wasn't too bad and I will visit this restaurant again, but will order something else. Nice open air as well as indoor seating. Great view across the terrace to the Dutch Reform Church. Good menu and meals freshly prepared. Waiters are around but in the background. Decided to stop here on a road trip through the Karoo. Dare I say one of the best Egg Benedict spinoffs I've had. Eggs beautifully poached, delicious buttery sauce, crispy bacon and packed with flavour. Service was friendly and efficient, plus they let my dog tag along in the outside space. A fabulous cappuccino tied it all together. All of this in a beautiful location with a great view. Definitely worth it - would love to return for the lamb. Massive 5 star rating from me! I had the lamb shank and my wife the butternut schnitzel and both were amazing. The greatest bit - we came for lunch and both items were only on the evening menu (we didn’t know). But our waitress took it on herself to convince the kitchen to prepare it for us anyway!
