This place has character. Staff are all different but overall friendly and helpful. If you get a room with a “hottub” just know it’s a jetted empty bathtub that will fill with luke warm water. Note : the building is concrete so you don’t hear your neighbours! The vibe is relaxed. Lots of seating on little outcrop patios right on the ocean. Check out is at noon and they extended mine till 1pm. Food is good with awesome staff. Just a great atmosphere and quite in the evening. Go grab a drink and soak in the stars while the ocean plays the soundtrack 👌🏻oh and check out the Mayan tree at the entrance at night, look up, it’s quite the show :)

I walked here from San Miguel after seeing reviews that this beach club was the best bang for your buck. The menu was fairly pricey so I got the sopa de lima for $140mx and a daiquiri for $170mx. The food was delicious and the service was good. I stayed and swam for a couple hours before eventually leaving as they started to keep asking if I wanted to order anything else. The vibe is good and the beach is beautiful

Great spot on the beach. Not overrun with cruise ship groups. The beach itself is rather small but there's a large open air restaurant under a palapa roof, a bar, and a deck on the ocean. There's also a pool. Nice lounge chairs under shade palapas on the sand. Now there's an admission fee. Have some food or drinks and stay as long as you like.

Don't bother stopping here, but if you do, double-check your receipt before paying. There's an entry fee of 200 pesos per person, which they say is applied as a credit towards your food/drink bill. We paid this in cash to the security guard after parking and received our wristbands. When we got our bill at the end, they took our wristbands for the credit however, after reviewing the itemized bill we noticed they charged us again for the entry fees on our bill, then credited us. We explained that we already paid the security guard, so they needed to remove the entry fees off the bill entirely and only give us the credit. They tried telling us we miscalculated, so we added everything on our calculator to prove they were overcharging us. They remedied the bill without debate after that.
By far, it was the worst ceviche we've ever had at a restaurant. The specialty shrimp ceviche was served to us raw, where it was still grey in color and not fully cleaned. They also used large frozen mango chunks and had huge pieces of jicama so you couldn't get a proper mix of everything in one bite . We asked for more lime juice to thoroughly soak the shrimp while I finished cleaning them and had to wait 15-20 minutes until it was "cooked" well enough to eat. Fried calamari was also overcooked, very chewy.
The only redeeming parts of our experience were the view, piña colada, and mojito.

We stayed in 2016, and it was a trip of a lifetime. The long time staff are dedicated to the guests. The resort food was good and the small but amazing beaches were clean with pure white sand and beautiful blue sea teeming with colorful fish. My husband fished very early in the morning from the cement piers and snorkeled in the afternoon. I have never wanted to repeat travel to a place that I visited before, but I plan in the near future on a return trip. Can't wait.

We visited this beach off one of our cruises. It had free parking and no charge to use the beach as long as you ate at the restaurant. It was very nice. We enjoyed food and drinks. The prices were very reasonable. The beach was not huge but had everything you needed. Snorkeling right off the beach was cool for the entire family. We are headed back to Cozumel soon and hopefully we will have another fun day here. I will update my review and see if they now charge as I’ve seen in some posts. I hope not

Food and drinks are as you’d expect. Service is fantastic as most of Mexico has been. The beach, though small, was clean, beautiful, pet friendly and not overcrowded. I got here too late to rent a kayak, but maybe next time. We’ll be back.

We happened upon this place backed off of a local’s recommendation and didn’t understand the food/drink requirements of coming to this beach. We paid $30 to enter, they had 10-15 lounge chairs and a small beach, not all the chairs had cushions so we ended up attempting to lay out on hard wood chairs. We ordered drinks and they were good, but they notified us we were required to make a food order before we could leave so we ordered nachos (they were not what I expected…black bean purée, salsa and cheese). We really didn’t want to eat, so we didn’t…but now that we’d placed our food order we were able to pay and leave.
So, be prepared to eat and drink if you’d like to go to this beach. It looked like they had good food options, we had already eaten before arriving so we’re a bit thrown off by the requirement.
Clean bathrooms and outdoor shower available.
My daughter's wedding was on their beach under the gazebo.
Staff was great
Food was even better.
Everyone enjoyed themselves all 70+ people.
We came from one of the cruise ships and they had everything in place for her wonderful wedding.
I wish I had the name of the women that helped coordinate all the accomodations.

Playa Azul is within walking distance of our Cabaña located at Rancho Chichaulco. There is $10 per adult, and a $5 per child cover charge at the gate; however, the charge goes towards the total check amount when ordering food & drinks. The views are GREAT, the beach is very nice and easily accessible. Overall, this is a great place to hang out for a day.
