I love this place! First and foremost, try the pickled veggies and cabbage salad. They pickle it themselves in house and it tastes super authentic grandma’s-cooking-like, so yummy. If you want to try more Romanian style food, get the mici, sarmale, the pickled veggies mentioned above, and the mămăligă (polenta) and make sure to get sour cream for everything but the mici, those need good house mustard. Heads-up, Romanian sour cream is different than USA/Canada sour cream, a tad bit sweeter and more runny, so give it a try before you knock it. Most Romanian foods are eaten with a dollop of sour cream. The service is great too, it’s like it’s your family waiting on you. They ask about you, care to make your experience great, and get so excited to have you in their restaurant. Super wholesome. The space is no 5-star establishment, but again, think of it more as a humble mom & pop. I can’t wait to go back, my mouth is watering as I write this review! Very good food for reasonable prices. The staff are well-manned and some do speak English. The main area in use seemed to be the roof top which is spacious lovely in the summer. Due to the downstairs area being seemingly unused and unlit, it gave off the initial impression that the place was actually closed. No signs indicated that it was open or directed customers. I only managed to find the rooftop out of curiosity.
