I had breakfast and lunch at Ce Lon Vie while staying at the hostel and both were incredibly fresh and tasty. Henry told me what seafood he had in fresh and I was pleased I took his recommendations. He’s clearly passionate about his cooking and I really appreciated having light and healthy food in a beautiful setting. Also had a great experience of the dorms which were clean and comfortable. The owners were so kind and friendly. The washing was done in one evening and was cheaper than most places at 500 per kg. Opposite the hostel and restaurant is bucket hat beach which is perfect for swimming as the offshore coral creates a natural current breaker. There are free sun beds to use and you can order from the restaurant and eat fresh seafood on the beach. Can’t recommend this place enough.

I stayed at Ce Lon Vie hostel for 6 nights and was often visiting The cafe upstairs which is run by Henry and another guy (forgetting the name) who creates a perfect vibe at the place. The most welcoming Sri Lankans who will take care of you and your taste buds. You can simply discuss what food you are into and he will be able to customize the recipe as per your interest! Moreover, they are great company! Surely, the best curries I have had in the country. BBQ at the beach was also amazing and a very home like feeling in general. You usually find other guests chilling at the cafe. The rooms at the hostel below are also great and a very beautiful beach is just across the road. The hostel is run by a super sweet lady who will be there to welcome you. I will definitely be coming back to meet and spend time with the team. Thanks for hosting and showing the best time :3

Hands down the best food in Midigama. You can tell that there is a lot of love in each dish. Henry is an excellent cook and superb host, making you feel at home instantly. The atmosphere is great and you’ll definitely want to come back again before travelling onwards.

super lovely stay with such nice owners, the cafe is also really good and fresh. The rooms are really clean and the beach on the other side of the street makes it even better ! Definitely recommend!

Lovely hostel. The owners are so nice. There was no atm close by so the owner drove me on his scooter. This café is lovely too and the chef makes the best kottu I've eating in Sri Lanka! You can eat with a view on the ocean. The beach in front of the house is beautiful and not very crowded. A lot of people staying here are long term guests that surf.

Found this little gem of a place and had the best kottu I've tasted in 8 months of being in Sri Lanka. The owner is a high end chef and a really nice gentleman from Colombo. He has built a lovely little chill spot to hang out and eat gorgeous yet really reasonably priced food. I know I will be going back again and again. Cannot wait to try his Mahi Mahi dish

Amazing place, amazing staff. Extremely nice people working there, great energy. Only thing was that the fish was served a bit cold, and therefore had to be send back. Nevertheless I would recommend it

The chef Henry is amazing! The vibe and the food was purely fantastic! Would highly recommend this place to everyone!! And the view of the ocean is super cool!

Great food, tastes like home. Nice and polite cook will prepare food exactly the way you’d prefer. Cozy little harbor with clean water right across the road
