Cool wee bar upstairs with a few areas to sit including an outdoor area. Lovely gas fire which made the atmosphere feel warm. Loved our drinks. The only feedback is to possibly greet customers and engage a bit more when ordering drinks. Recommendations get orders 😉 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Lovely bartenders but easily the worst cocktail I’ve had in a long time. They charged $22 for a “Jaffa Martini” which tasted like a bit of orange peel in straight ethanol - seriously not drinkable and was left really disappointed. And it was significantly small serving unfortunately. To make the drink worse - the bartender garnished my drink with an orange peel she took out of the pitcher with her fingers after she handled cash merely seconds earlier. Cherry on top - bathroom pretty gross and no toilet paper available. Definitely not impressed and won’t be coming back in a hurry.

I tend to prefer clubs that support local Dunedin DJ’s/musicians as it provides a much more exciting and enthusiastic crowd, Unfortunately whilst I was there (Saturday night 10pm-1am) almost all the music sounded as if it was being played from a Spotify playlist on a laptop and was WAYYY to loud to even communicate with the others around you (that is unless you like strangers screaming your ear all night :/). They also allow smoking in the dance area so often their breath is not too pleasant. Above all this, I saw a bartender pour out another patrons beer on the dance floor IN FRONT of other customers and did not show any initiative to clean it up whatsoever (I understand it can get rowdy inside nightclubs especially on Saturday’s, but this is unacceptable) it made quite a hazard for others, luckily no one slipped but I feel that was because most people avoided that particular spot for the rest of the night. Unfortunately the food was quite disappointing and very overpriced for what you get. I was still quite surprised by how busy this club was through the night, perhaps the fact people were able to keep coming out of the toilets with bulgy eyes and sniffly noses might have something to do with it. Would not recommend this club for people looking for a nice evening out with Whānau and/or friends and would suggest looking at other clubs within the Octagon/Dunedin. Price per person $50–60 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Love this place. Came here curiously wanting to try a few cocktails one night with my fiancè. Have visited a few times since then. There's such an extensive range that will meet all pallets. Haven't had a bad one here. Photos are from a few weeks ago - pina colada, polish sunset, key lime and bee's knee's. Service is pretty quick too. Props to this team for that - cocktails can take a bit of extra work. Local turned regular visitor (:

The drinks and atmosphere of this place was amazing. The service was very average last night Friday 27/1. I'd like to think wed come back next time we're in dunedin and the service be better.

This place is all about the staff. The bar man was so sociable, knowledgeable that it was a real joy visiting. No snobbiness just good cocktails made with care. Good cocktail menu as well, ordered some off menu and happy made. Place is tidy and inviting, but go here for the staff and cocktails, lovely spending time here, well done!

what happened this evening is in need of for further explanation. I was transiting from WOOF bar to Carousel - following a group of friends. When approaching the door, I held of from entering because I still had a half a glass of wine in my hand. Assuming that this was not okay i stood away from the entrance to finish it. After walking up I was told I was not allowed to enter because The door person saw me finish a glass of wine which was not allowed on that street and that that glass of wine was the property of another venue. Being new to NZ I was not aware of that rule and proceeded to return the glass to the previous venue. After approaching the door again, the door man said that it would not matter what I would do but I would not be allowed to enter the venue. I can conclude anything else other than think, that at this point, he was being bias towards my person. Since he clearly saw that I belonged to another group of friends that all got let into the venue. I was wearing make up & was dressed up. I would ask for caution of minority groups who want to enter this location, the Door person differentiates based on appearance it my conclusion from this event.
Nice relaxed atmosphere, definitely recommend the Key Lime cocktail or the Spiked Hot Chocolate, if available.
