2 of the staff are inept at this location. We drove in from out of state and saw that a Carlos’ bakery was here and decided to try these famous bakery treats. After getting our food we went and sat down to eat. After taking 2 bites my son found a hair baked into his cheesecake cupcake and after spending a good amount of money we decided to take it back for another. The male staff member was dismissive and rude to my son, then my elderly mother and then me. My husband then tried to find out why he was being so rude and insulting over a cupcake. He too was treated so poorly even though he spoke with calm. We walked away disappointed and feeling challenged by a young, aggressive worker who should not be working in customer service. We called their main office and they were very apologetic and said they would follow up with the store manager. It appears this location has a poor reputation even at headquarters.

My wife has to come here every time we come to mall of America. She absolutely loves the cannolis and lobster tails. She has a very refined palette and is very big in desserts and she says the pastries here are the best she has ever had. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

After reading all the reviews for this business I was nervous about buying a cake from here but decided to try it anyways. We were there on a Tuesday and there was not a single customer there. A woman came out from the back and helped us right away. We order one slice of the fudge rainbow cake and a full whole rainbow cake. My 3 year old son was incredibly thirsty after running around Nickelodeon Universe and they didn't have the bottled water stocked. So the employee went in the back and got him one. Our total came to $52; including the water. Her customer service was just fine; no issues. My mom, my son, and my husband loved the fudge rainbow cake. They all thought it was delicious, rich, and if you like fudge you will also love it. We brought the whole cake home for a birthday celebration and everyone liked it. There is lot of frosting; so it is quite rich and you do not need much of it. Overall the customer service was just fine and the cakes were good. They are overpriced but that is what I expected for the brand and location in the mall of America. I would recommend as a splurge or special treat.

I ordered their large rainbow birthday cake. While it looked pretty, it sliced poorly because it was so extremely dry. The kids complained about how dry it was. That’s how bad it was. It was sandy and gritty. I would not recommend spending $99 on a cake here. Service Take out Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

This place has disappointed me twice! They state that they have strawberry shortcakes on the menu, I place an order for it and I have the employee an hour later calling me telling me they do not have it. They do not refund money and was force to get a cake that was okay (too sweet for my taste). I say force because I did not want to lose my money. I also order chocolate covered strawberries and they were sour. I spent a good amount of money, but will never do that again. Please, save your money if you are trying to order online and if you go in person make sure to check your pastries for hair, because daughter order some cake slices about 6 months ago and it had hair. She noticed until she got home and was too late to call and my daughter was too nice to complain. This place is expensive, so please, save your money and make sure to get what you pay for.

I bought the strawberry shortcake and red velvet slice. The strawberry shortcake was just ok. You could make it at home. But the red velvet cake is the best. It was thick, rich and moist!! I will come back for red velvet cake. You will spend some money.....

Wife and I went for the day to the Mali. We stopped hoping to get a sweet treat. Wife ordered the sugar cookie I got chocolate chip and m&m cookie. Wife's ok, but mine were dry and bland. I heard that some people had the same results but try things for myself. It wasn't anything I expected. Very disappointed. What a nice experience. I was in the area and decided to stop at MOA on a whim and found Carlo’s by accident. I had no idea that he branched out. Well since I travel for work I will now be able to hit all of the locations up

Amazing red velvet cake not sure why people are giving them bad reviews. Last time I was in New York was the last time I tasted a cake this good. So moist that the cake part folds on it self, great cake.

We stopped at Carlo's bakery which is next door to the jerky experience when we were at the Mall of America in Bloomington Minnesota. They have a huge variety of cake by the slice, cupcakes, cheesecakes, and so much more. My husband decided to get one of their famous lobster tails and he said it was delicious. We also got a cheesecake cupcake and that was delicious as well.
