Highly recommend the crumbed fish. Crumbed snapper was $9 so on the pricey end but well worth it. Chips were crunch and golden. Only good for take away.

We were quite looking forward to a bit of fish and chips on the beach so we came here and we ordered 2 crumbed fish, a chicken cutlet, a spring roll and a scoop of chips. It came pretty quick, so we sat down across the road and started eating it. The chicken “cutlet” was a disc of heavily processed chicken (so not a cutlet at all), and then we realised that the 2 crumbed fish was actually 3 battered fish, and we had been charged for that. That part is an easy mistake so we went back and asked them to update the order and give us the refund on the extra fish we paid for, which wasn’t a problem. We sat back down outside the shop and continued eating what we did have while we waited for the crumbed fish to arrive. Shortly, the owner came out and asked to take the three battered fish back.
“Oh, sorry - we’ve touched it,” I said.
“No problem,” she said, “we’ll just…” She cut her sentence short because she must have realised that she shouldn’t say what she was about to say.
“Are you going to give that to someone else?” my partner asked.
“No, I’m going to put it in the bin,” she claimed.
At this point we decided that this place wasn’t worth it so we just took the meal and put it back on the counter and said, “this is all too weird, so we’ll just have our money back, please. This is not how you run a business.”
At this point, another staff member (who was kind up until that point) said, “yeah, well she’s the one running it, not you.”
So suddenly we were somehow in the wrong too, apparently.
If you want cutlets that aren’t cutlets and fish that has potentially been handled by another member of the community, I highly recommend this place.

10 minute drive from my home in Clive to this takeaway. Gr8 food, friendly staff and the wait wasn't to long. You can also pop across the road, sit at the picnic table and lookout at the sea with the sound of the rolling sea in front of you

Been here twice, was not happy with paua fritter and mussel fritter the first time. Went back next time to see if the Chinese food was good. Purchased some sweet and sour pork and lots of it was just battered pork fat...so apart from the fish and chips I was not impressed and won't be back.sadly.
Good fish,chips,oysters and mussels...nicer than a lot of other takeaways I've been to,will definitely go there again
