Great location! the price is slightly high than other local restaurants (outside of the old town) but considering it is right in the heart of the old town next to the minaret, this is quite understandable. and the food was good, we think it's better than Terrassa(another one we tried in Xiva). Food was nicer than I thought it would be. Aubergine salad rolls were very refreshing and tasty. The meat zarafashon was nice but too much for 1 person and a little bit dry. They should put onions or something else inside or give a thicker sauce. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person UZS 50,000–100,000 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

I agree with the other reviews. Service is not good. Too many young men running around, disorganized. One waiter was friendly and helpful with understanding the menu. We liked the food except for the beef kebabs. The beef was too dry. My wife loved the Shuvit oshi green noodles, and I liked the Qapshirma baked pastries. The restaurant has a 15% service charge, but the waiter told me “Tip not included.” Nine days in Uzbekistan, and this is the first time a waiter has asked for additional tips. Restaurant location is good, but it was cool and breezy in the evening. I think this is a must-go in Khiva. The restaurant itself is located in an antique building, so there is that historic feel to it (although that will be the standard experience in Khiva) there is a very thoughtful effort to make the ambiance of the dining hall a great match to its historic status. Traditional Uzbek crafts and fabrics make it grand and sophisticated. Although it looks very expensive, the food is reasonably priced and everything Uzbek you would ever want is available on its menu. We had our first green lachman (dill and herby dough), which is a Khiva specialty, at Zarafshon. We also had assorted dumplings and I really loved my meal there. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Very nice atmosphere, with great interior design. Pumpkin soup was on point, not watery. The basic salad was big enough to share for two as a side dish, very impressed by the portions. The local dish we ordered (gumma) was like a non-greasy potato empanada and was very delicious. Very reasonable prices for what we ordered ($10 for two soups, one salad, one local dish). Very nice café-restaurant facing the place with the minaret to the left. Friendly service, reasonable prices, incredible interiors and - yes - clean non smelly toilets !! Went there twice and enjoyed the local green noodles but also other dishes. Their plov is true karakalpakstan style but average. We had better ones in Nukus. Otherwise a real good spot to enjoy the city in the evening.
Kind suggestion is to dine here on the outside tables, enjoying the sunset and the different colours of the surrounding buildings! The location is right in the square near Islam Khoja Minaret and looking towards Pahvalan Mahmoud Masouleum’s cupolas. Extra good were the aperizers, with, pumpkin soups, cauliflower salad, and aubergines roll with cheese in it! Service was good and responsive. Definitely, the location is the most remarkable thing to go again in this restaurant! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
Most unpleasant dining experience in entire Uzbekistan journey. The waiters were unprofessional and unwelcome. No smile as if we were begging them for place to dine in. The restaurant was empty but we were not allowed to choose but asked to sit at the very Conner and small coffee table. At first we thought those normal table setting were reserved for event or tour group. However people who then came in after us got to choose the tables. The waiter kept coming back asking if we are finished. Don’t try to guess if something wrong with us, we are one of the lovely and friendly travellers that having to encounter this situation for the first time throughout our travels in many places. Food is fine. Fair to the kitchen staff. We hope they reflect especially the lead perhaps the restaurant manager, not to ruin the image of beautiful Uzbekistan. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch
